Nita responded re:mounting it first with medium (but mentioned the
wrinkles)... In Oriental painting they first paint on the rice paper,
then "line it" which is a wet mounting process using a wheat paste...
that process requires the painting to have been done with a waterproof
paint or ink (I use sumi). An alternative for a flat smooth finish is
to mount the rice paper first to a board such as acid free mat or acid
free foam core (I use a rollataq applicator) and then paint... this
process does not interfear much with the soft absorbent properties of
