[How about the colossal statues of Ramses and his pals at Abu Simbel? Or the
Great Sphinx? Probably more than one artist was involved on both projects
but no one knows, really. Obviously more than one craftsman was neccessary.
I'm not sure how you measure "most famous" either...]
