Old Painting

I have an oil painting of a castle signed H. Highland? and dated 1898.
Does anyone have any information concerning this artist.

I made a relativley comprehensive search , on your behalf, for any
artist with the last name "Highland" and found none. I suspect
your painting is British, but I checked out American's as well.

There are several listings for the last name Highmore (all British),
but none with the first inistial "H."

Ther was, however, a minor note of a 19th c. painter " H. High"
(also British). He was not a well known (exhibited) painter
but at least a possibility. You might contact the Witt Library
with a request for information about any listings for H. Highland,
or H. High, as a possibility.
