I have a jan steen canvas painting and would like any information
on this that I can get.

says, it's a print (not a painting), but that aside, Jan Steen was a
great artist. He lived back in the Dutch Golden age - around the
same time as Rembrandt, Hals, Vermeer, etc, made his living running
atavern (there's another for you, Xena!), and is mostly known for
his genre work - tavern scenes, etc. There's a fair bit about him on
the net, and a good reference for his era is Schama's "The
Embarrassment of Riches".. Hope this helps.
