Arguably chimp paintings are selling for the simple fact that getting a
painting, any painting, made by an animal that can hold + control paint
and a brush at all is rare. I wouldn't mind owning one, if I had some
corresponding video to show of the animal painting it. It would be
even better if I got to be there and watch them do it. It would be
especially cool to have one by an elephant to go with it.

I would rather have a chimp painting than a Kindade,

So what!

Is this a true representation of the art market? No!

Why bother with this sort of nonsence.

You're "bothering with it" just by replying, so I'll humor your reply.
What is a true representation of the art market, then?

My point is that chimp made paintings selling for a lot of money is a
humorous diversion. Nothing more. It does not represent current
developments in the art market.

It has the same smugness as those who say "My five year old could do
better than that". Oh really? Well your five year old and the chimp
are not worthy of a serious discussion on the current art scene.

Have you noticed there are no discussions about the Turner Prize, or
what is being shown at Art Basel or all the other fairs and biennials?

What is the true representation of the Art Market? That IS a question
worth exploring.

Maurizio Cattelan's representation of the Pope getting hit by a
meteorite selling for over a million dollars is interesting. Is that
event in the same league as selling paintings made by a monkey? I
question the understanding of current art trends in those who would
find the two of equal importance.

Yeah, their better than Fox, but probably more expensive. Chimps
learned better technique.

BTW I have book of cat paintings, better than chimps and elephants.
Way beyond Fox.

Thank you Mani.

Stupid as usual.

Keep up the good work.

unless you compare it to a lot of the crap in museums posing as great
art

only if you think the artscene is confined to what Artangel thinks it
is.

cause it mostly miles of the same old garbage.

Uh oh, looks like it gave way to reason backed with evidence. Looks
like you'll have to brush off your game a little more than just
restating your same opinion that "works in the gallery are crap"... we
know you think that. We also know you have no idea why you think that,
thanks to your posts that detail your lack of a consistent foundation
for your opinions. No skill no art, how profound. I can draw Bart
Simpson perfectly in just a few seconds, so that makes me
unquestionably better than one of the 'artists you like', Matt
Groening, right? I guess you better bump him off the list and put me
on it :)

Unlike you Mani, some of us DO move on.

Dont let your little mind get confused. The fart comments are yours and
for old times sake:

Keep pissing in the wind Mani.

We all know how much you like repetition.
