I have a wonderful primitive oil painting, measuring 34"x28", and
depicting a rural scene with three boys eating cherries from a reed
basket. The subjects are sitting in the foreground, along a split rail
fence, and the fence receeds into the distance; dim farm buildings and
scattered pine trees comprise the rest of the scene.
The painting is signed in the lower left hand corner, "C.S.Rice," and
dated, 1850.
Any help in researching the origin of the painting, or artist would be
greatly appreciated.
Thank you, so much, for your kind reply.
