ASTM stands for AMERICAN Society for Testing Materials.
W&N is a British manufacturer and it's a compliment
to the American testing standards that W&N, or any
other non-American company, abides by those standards.
There is also a comparable and sometimes more rigid "SIS"
set of standards published by the Swedish government.
