I dug around a few books, and found some interesting tidbits. For example,
the titles of his paintings are mostly totally irrelevant to the work;
in some cases, he asked his friends to name them. He seemed to be a fairly
relaxed kind of bloke, and he claimed that his paintings didn't represent
anything in particular. (Well, it was news to me..)

The French-language "Yves Tanguy" by the Centre Georges Pompidou is a
complete retrospective, with some of the plates in color. (The colors in
the copy I have are rather faint.) It's an excellent book. [...]
Here's its number: ND553.T26A4. (Pub. 1982, ISBN 2-85850-149-1).
Very highly recommended, except that the colors in the color plates are tame.
Yves Tanguy by James Thrall Soby, The Museum of Modern Art, New York,1955,
72 pages, 59 plates, 8 in color. [...] Certainly out of print.
Since the MOMA book is an exhibit catalog, I suspect that explains why
the pictures are so small: they want you to pay to see the real thing...
Too old to have an ISBN, it's Library of Congress ND 553.T26N4.
