Hello everyone, merry christmas

I bought a pastel painting signed Eakins. After searching online I
found out who Eakins was and discovered that the painting I bought is
"Spinning".

First, I found an article that explains that Eakins made two painting
for someone in 1882 and called them Knitting and Spinning. Then I found

another source online showing Eakin's Knitting and Spinning as
sculpture see:
<http://www.artnet.com/artwork/424136370/thomas-eakins-spinning-and-kn...>

Did he draw then made the sculpture? or vise versa? or there is no
painting,it's only a sculpture?

I need to be sure that the one I have is the real "Spinning" pastel
painting, not a reproduction. Does anybody know about "Spinning" being
in a museum or so? how can I get sure that it's the original? Is Eakin's

"Spinning" drawn with pastel?
last thing: I think it's value is $8400, I need a commentary on the
price.

check the painting:(this is online printings, It's just to see what it
looks like)

Oh! I'm fond of Eakins, I had a print by him of artisans labourers
stripping varnish from a wooden floor, its so well lit and peacefully
atmospheric.

If you have an original and in any doubt, you should take a
professional
opinion, try your local galleries or a good fine arts auctioneers.

you could scan and post to a web-page with a close up on an area
or interest, sometimes the technique an artist uses is very
informative,
but nothing beats a first hand evaluation by someone who's been in
the fine arts biz for many years.

Good Luck, and Happy Christmas,

N.
