I recently discovered Leonardo Pereznieto and admire his art. Read his
profile below, and don't forget to click on his website to see the
beauty of his art for youself.

Leonardo Pereznieto is a Mexican artist, sculptor, painter and
co-founder of the cultural movement of post-romanticism. Leonardo
Pereznieto studied in Mexico, Italy and the United States and has
mastered engraving, serigraphy, watercolor, pastel and oil painting,
and marble, bronze and resin
sculpture.

He has had exhibitions in galleries at New York, Paris, London,
Florence, Los Angeles, and Monaco among others and has
been awarded at the International Art Festival in New York City, and
the Mozart Prize in Nice, France and has worked as a set-design painter
in Hollywood. He is a graduate of administration from the International
Training Organization of California and a graduate of Executive
Administration from the Flag Service Organization of Florida.

Leonardo is the son of painter and sculptor Fernando Pereznieto. He
studied the arts with his father at an early age and began watercolor
painting before learning to speak and walk. His first exhibition was at
the age of 8 years in the Gallery of Goya, Mexico City.

Leonardo attended an artistic school in Florence which was
complemented with visits to the museums of art of the city and
painting classes with famous artists. He worked in lithographic
factories in Florence and Barcelona.

At the age of 17, he exhibited his "High Speed" collection of
automobile paintings at the "Continuous Dimensions" gallery in
Tijuana, Mexico. Due to the quality of his artwork he was contracted to
make some drawings for Volkswagen of Mexico and the Mexican Marine
Transportation and he participated in the design of the automobiles
used in the racing Junior Formula in Mexico. He attended preparatory
college in Mexico. Upon graduation, he returned to Italy to study
automotive
design at the National Institue of Automotive Science in Modena.

Leonardo was an Italian correspondent for "Amigos del Automovil"
magazine which published several of his articles. His work has also
appeared in the magazines "Grand Prix," "Auto Proyecto," "Motor y
Volante" of Mexico, and "Autosprint" of Italy.

He learned naval skills while working on the Freewinds in the
Carribean as well as skills in sailing the ship itself.

Leonardo has dedicated a majority of his efforts to the improvement of
people and society with L. Ron Hubbard's Scientology religious
philosophical technology. He has organized courses and seminars in the
prevention of drug abuse.

Leonardo is the founder of the "Concurso Nacional de Grafica",
dedicated to his father Fernando Pereznieto, and has lectured at the
University of Michigan and the Celebrity Centre Florence.

Leonardo Pereznieto´s exquisite sculptures and paintings play upon our
disavowed dreams, sensibilities and longings to persuade us to return
to some of the romantic ideals and motifs that modern art has, for the
most part, forsaken. Romanticism, but with a difference. His art
couples a nostalgia for romanticism with an acute sense of the needs
of modernity.
