Famous painting of a woman with her hand on the heart of a prisoner

I am trying to find out the name of a painting and its artist that I
think is of the pre-raphaelite school but I am not sure.
As the subject says it is of a man standing near a window with a hand
or hands in chains ( I think ) and
there is a woman, presumably his wife or girlfriend, who has her hand
on his heart. They are close and I think
they are looking in each other's eyes or at least the woman is looking
in the man's eyes. Does anyone know
the name of the painting and the name of the artist? I am pretty sure
it is a famous one since I believe I saw it
in an encyclopedia.
