REQ: Info on western artist "William Hoffman"

I am a fan of this mans work, but have not been able to find out much
about him. I know that he started off painting seascapes in the Laguna
area, and changed to western scenes.

He was a member of the AICA in/around 1979, but I know nothing more
about him.

Can anyone help?

I recall an artist by the name of Hoffman who painted
seascapes wonderfully. I used to visit the Taos, NM
gallery that handled his work in the early 1970's.
Then one day I visited the gallery only to find that
he'd changed from painting seascapes to painting
religious paintings -- had become 'born again' according
to the gallery owner, and soon after the gallery dropped
him from their stable. Don't recall that Hoffman's first
name though -- that's a long time ago.
