If your brand or franchise has certain values and a style you don't just
hand over the reigns to a third party. What manager authorised this
nightmare, or are they going to hide behind a faceless committee like the
managers in the BBC responsible for DW? Names, please.
Luxottica Group is the company behind dozens of brand name sunglasses, and
they can even do the design and marketing for you if you like. Want to start
your own fashion sunglasses brand? Wave enough money and you can do that but
your brand is contained so it doesn't *contaminate* the others.
Mark Thompson was promoted as PR savvy but in the end was just very good at
promoting Mark Thompson. Under his reign the BBC brand dumbed down, created
too many stars who contaminated the brands, and wasted money. Now he's been
kicked out maybe we can see a return to "content is king".
