Unfortunately, I have to go to work this morning, so there
is no staying home where it is warm and dry and where a guy
can watch Dr. Who reruns.

Being retired, I LOVE to surf to the various traffic cams and watch those
"in the squirrel cage" chase the Mighty Buck!! It's cool seeing Whitemud
Drive traffic back up for miles...on an almost daily basis. You'd think that
people would take an alternate route.
Snow is just starting to fall in Calgary, the weather folks are
predicting lots of snow here also. I'm sure glad I decided to take this
week off. Nothing like being 'Sharx for a day' ;-)

I'm envious.
The trip in to work wasn't bad, but I dread the trip home this
afternoon.
Oh sharx! I'll be thinking of you watching me on your webcam later
today as I fight the traffic on the Whitemud.
I can send you a few DVDs.

Yep gonna need to get out ye old shovel and keep the cider flowing.
Shovel and clean. Keep Canada Post happy.
Didn't they put the Whitemud Freeway in AS a viable alternate from
what they had before?...seems like it should have been wider and set
up for more rapid transport. There is no end to the problems in
Edmonton...and you keep voting in some of the weirdest turkeys to run
it as well.
==
They are widening it just north of the Quesnell Bridge. Bridge is
being redecked and widened too.
Wow..It is just about noon now, I can barely see across the street with
the blowing snow. What a mess.
I doubt that John or anyone else is interested in your collection of
TeleTubbies videos.
We're supposed to get the same system here in the Hat but so far
there's still blue sky above us.
Perhaps overnight.
The doctor won't have any of those.
His pastor probably told him Tinky Winky was gay.
I'd get nervous about three o'clock this afternoon.
We have a steady breeze from the NW.
Something is coming.
I'd get those snow tires on if I were you. Before it's too late.
<yawn>....later......I have to keep my post count up.;o)

Saturday sounds the worse for you folks:

I already have my snow tyres on Goosestepper.
You drive a Goosestepper? What kind of mileage do you get and is it hard to
find parts for it?

It will knock four times...
My guess is that it is some kind of tricycle.
Unfortunately, they haven't finished the work yet. So the
bridge is still down to two lanes each direction.
So sharx is right, the traffic does back up.
There aren't many alternative routes in from the far west.
Anthony Henday will get you onto the south side. The other
alternative, really, is Groat.
Or the snowblower.
The only reason I didn't use the snowblower this evening is
because my neighbour got his out this afternoon and did it
for me. (I'll get to return the favour later this year.)
Well, you know I run my tax business out of my residence and, at this time
of the year, I seldom have to go out on business. I do go for walks, though,
for about an hour at a time, on an almost daily basis. The biggest PITA is
people who seldom clean their sidewalks.
Would the Henday be any better for you?
So, you are in the Hat, the city with all Hell for a basement. Or do they no
longer use that description?
Snow tires? Hell, I haven't used snow tires for well over 30 years. Not
necessary unless you have a very steep driveway that you can't shovel before
using.
It's not me who elects the idiots--I vote only for clear-thinking
candidates, but none of them has won since the days of Laurence Decore.
I didn't have any gas on the premises as it gets stale within a month, you
know. I only cleaned the sidewalk 1 blade width wide in the interim and the
driveway only just wider than the car. Just drove a mile or so to Southgate
then down to the Calgary Trail, South to 42 Avenue than west to home.
Hideous conditions. Little traction even on main roads. Southgate was not
very busy--bought some reading glasses for a BUCK plus GST at the Dollarama.
Your guess is as good as mine.

I know the kind. Sidewalk is virtually impassable. There
just aren't enough bylaw enforcement officers to help keep
them in line.
If only we can find another Laurence Decore.
On your bicycle with the training wheels?
They can't. They're out of gas. Have to buy it elsewhere.

As an update, we are still being ensnowed.
It's now Saturday afternoon, and it is coming down thick and
heavy.
Soon I will have to go out and clear the driveway *again*.
I'm SO sorry. But at least it's a weekend.
> Soon I will have to go out and clear the driveway *again*.
It is very clear and 40 degees here on the Oregon coast. It's
supposed to go down to around 31 degrees tonight. Snow in
the Cascades but none here on the coast.
:-)
HTH.
Funny, yesterday had a foot drift in my driveway. Thought I'd wait it
out until the wind died down. I take the dog out for a wizz this
morning and it had all blown away. Phew. My driveway is beside the
house from the street - beside the house cleared but I still had to
shovel some of the front.
You're lucky.
Around here, the snow settled more near the front door, so I
had a two foot deep pike in front of the house. Along the
city sidewalk, things were pretty clean with almost no
shovelling required.
In all, shovelling took about three hours today.
I'm envious.
I think so too. This is only my first winter at my new abode.
I spent 2 1/2 effing hours Saturday afternoon and that was USING a
good-sized snow blower. Mrs. Sharx helped for about an hour, cleaning up
behind me. Friday afternoon , I'd also spent over an hour shovelling.
Friday night, coming home, thanks to some assholes who continue to insist on
parking in the street, instead of their garage, I almost got stuck. This
resulted from meeting ongoing traffic, on 36A Avenue, with only 1 set of
tire tracks in the snow and cars parked on both sides.
The street and avenue abutting Sharx. Manor were virtually impassable, so I
cleaned our side of them, too. Now, REMIND me why, in 1987, we bought a
corner lot AFTER I spent the years from the age of 6 to 20 something at my
parents' house, IN an effing corner lot with sidewalks at the front and side
and NO snow blower!!!!
Just like the babes on Whyte Avenue........
I spent a long time on my shovelling today too. Hopefully
it stays clear for more than 24 hours.
Anyway, even today, buses were getting stuck. Most of the
time, they wouldn't come right over to the curb lest they be
unable to pull away.
Maybe, just maybe, the city will get some graders out and do
a little clearing. And not just on the main roads, but on
the side streets too.

You bought the corner lot because it felt like home.
Hmmm. It *is* nice having a "pocket park" across the street, instead of yet
more neighbours and their vehicles, stored on the street.

But shovelling more snow is what you pay for it.
There is always a price to be paid--as the Doctor will find out when he
tries to shed his virginity.
There's LOTS of "romping" being down up here, pandora. We have keep warm
SOME HOW. Maybe next fall we shall romp on down to Yachats.
The operative word here is, of course, "tries".
At least you won't be shoveling snow.
Heh.
Most of the time I DID have to shovel the snow...with heavy steel
shovels--no plastic ones for most of they time but a lighter aluminum one in
later years. And, now it wasn't pretty then and it still isn't pretty. Good
time to sell a house, though. In the winter, most landscaping "problems" are
covered up.

Sorry doctor.
Just because you are wearing a condom doesn't mean sex isn't
sex. All a condom does is prevent sperm from reaching the
uterus--most of the time.
As I said condoms don't count.
It wrecks the experience.
Only in your mind, doctor, only in your mind.
And you would know this....how exactly?

Heh.
He prefers Norman to "ride bareback".
He doesn't. But he knows that condoms stop sperm "loading up" a "lady".
Yads' believes that the whole point of sex is reproduction. Therefore
condoms "wreck the experience".
On what do you base your "wisdom" and here is a small hint, total ignorance
is not a good authority to lean on. You are getting worse then the Pope
with your sexual ignorance.

Condoms prevent the spread of sexual diseases. In what way is that
unethical to use a condom?
Fuck
king
hell.
You actually DO believe that!
You sad mad twat.
Stop screwing around and be honourable. STD can be stopped
if you behave civilly.
It is called ethics. IT is something you do not have TRollsbury.
What about unwanted pregnancies?
No Yads. Most people feel that sex is fun. Even married couples. Why
shouldn't they enjoy each other's bodies? What the hell has it got to do
with you what consenting couples do?
What is unethical about not producing unwanted children?
Besides, that doesn't answer the question, "why is sex while wearing a
condom not sex?"
> > Condoms users has no ethics or honour.

At least we have to give the doctor credit for trying something
difficult.
Or dishonorable?
[snip]
> It is called ethics. IT is something you do not have TRollsbury.
It's something you don't seem to have either.
If they use condoms, no unwanted pregnancies.
The primary use of condoms is to prevent STDs.
I'd say that is both ethical and honourable.
Corinthians 7:5.
Explain it.
The AIDS virus is so small It can get through a condom.
You missed a number PAP.
>snigger<
You don't half believe some bullshit, Yads!
You can catch VD off doorknobs. :-D
Lousy comparison PV. Not with some of the things some RC
clergy have been caught doing with, among other things,
altar boys. Even if he hasn't participated in such
activities himself, the Pope might be more up to speed on
sex than the doctor will ever be.
LOL
Good point Loaf.
Another good point Loaf.
So would I.
Ever hear of a monogamous relationship?
Good question.
LOL
I wonder if the doctor really believes that, in the past
forty years, his parents never had sex, not even once.
(And lack of siblings is not substantive proof as it could
be the result of effective use of the rythym method.)
I supose you and I should be thankful we don't live in the
doctor's self created Hell on Earth.
LOL
I'm assuming you mean 1 Corinthians 7:5 here.
After all, explaining "Even when we reached Macedonia there
was still no relief for this poor body of ours; instead
there was trouble at every turn, quarrels all around us,
forebodings in our heart." (2 Corintians 7:5) doesn't sound
like what you had in mind.
Come on doctor. Surely a man with a modicum of intelligence
who has been following this thread could, with a quick
reference to the Bible to check the text of *both* passages
could figure out which one Peachy was referring to.
Total time required--15 seconds. Only excuse for not making
the effort--laziness.
That is both sad and effin' hilarious at the same time. He really is
deluded.

Perhaps it is a case of the Doctor believing that since he doesn't get
any, then neither should anyone else?
That's a possibility.
Okay sexual ignorance was a wrong choice of terms :) However he seems to
want to follow the Pope's stance on condoms as evil. A wonderful stance to
preach in Africa where AIDS is running like wildfire.
Funny that those that abstain (whether voluntarily (see Pope) or enforced
(see Doc)) are more then willing to impose their beliefs on others.
Thanks goodness I was "snipped" before the arrival of my last child so I
don't "taint" sex with my wive with condoms!
