Torchwood radio play - this Wednesday!!!!!!

TORCHWOOD THIS WEEK
September 6, 2008 - Vol 2, No 35
The weekly guide to Torchwood transmissions.

Doctor Who schedule information is in This Week In Doctor Who
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/thisweekindoctorwho .

Torchwood - "Lost Souls" - will premiere on BBC Radio 4
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4 this Wednesday at 2:15PM BST (9:15AM EDT, 6:15AM
PDT) as part of their daylong coverage of the Big Bang tests at CERN. "Lost
Souls" is a 45 minute Torchwood episode starring the cast following the
events of the Series 2 finale "Exit Wounds". If you have not seen "Exit
Wounds", there will be spoilers. "Lost Souls" is tied into CERN's efforts to
recreate the aftershocks following the Big Bang. The episode will remain
available for listeners around the world at the Radio 4 website for one week
and have a CD release on Thursday 11 September. There are some reports that
a free podcast may be available, but I cannot guarantee this.

Canada - SPACE http://www.spacecast.com is airing Torchwood in 65 minute
timeslots. So make sure your recording device is scheduled to record
Torchwood for 1 hour, 5 minutes instead of 1 hour. If you are in the Central
and Mountain Time Zones and also plan to watch Doctor Who Series 4 on the
CBC this fall, check your cable/satellite provider's channel lineup to make
sure you have other regions of CBC. In those 2 time zones the 65 minute
Torchwood broadcast on SPACE will overlap Doctor Who on CBC (9PM all time
zones), and neither show has a repeat slot. Satellite customers should be
fine and it is believed that most digital cable subscribers have multiple
CBCs too, but the time to check your lineup is now, as opposed to the 19th
of September.

Canada - Ztele http://www.ztele.com will air Torchwood Series 2 in French
many times a week this fall starting 14 October. Until then, Season 2 of
Jericho will air in the same time slots. Ztele's version of Torchwood will
be available in SD and HD versions.

If the play is being broadcast simultaneously with the real-life
events it describes, is this the final nail in the coffin for the 'one
year in the future' chronology established in 'Aliens of London'?

Or are we expected to believe the CERN scientists in the Whoniverse
are somehow one year behind those in the real world, despite having
the advantage of salvaged alien technology to help them?

Any thoughts?

It's another sign that the production team have completely forgotten it,
but I think we can still wring some life out of it.

All those alien invasions have delayed them a bit?

> Any thoughts?

"To the Last Man" had to be set in June 2008, which is less than half a
year in the future from the broadcast date. The whole of Torchwood
S2 has to fit between "Last of the Time Lords" and "The Poison Sky"
(unless that parallel "Turn Left" universe also has different dating),
but if the TW crew in this week's episode is still Jack/Gwen/Ianto, it
doesn't necessarily have to be after DW S4 (2009).
