Another beautiful day here at WDW. What's not to love.

Went for my walk, had bfast, etc. This morning we decided to head to
Epcot via DHS. We wanted to go to World Showcase and figured we could
take the Friendship Boat to the Interenational Gateway. Worked our
way this time. The boat just got to the dock as we got off the bus and
we had no trouble getting seats. I keep having trouble getting my RFID
pass to work. I think I am not shoving my finger up close to the top
enough but virtually every time, I have to to it twice, maybe again on a
different pole and then the guy has to let me in.. This could get
old.... We decided to try the bbq at the American Pavilion and it was
very good, particularly the brisket. I was not a fan of either of the
sauces but the portion including the cornbread and greens were enough
for lunch and we were done! Plus it was Field Day for bunches of
local schools, middle and lower school classes all over the place. Well
behaved with chaperones but well, we decided to leave the parks to them.
Plus from the heat and I don't know what, maybe the preds, I started
to get very dizzy watching the film in China and walked out. Andy came
out and we met up and I thought some popcorn and a diet coke would be
terrific. and a boat ride; forget that!! The Land was like a bee hive
and I was in no mood for that. So we left the park and headed back for
some rest. We love this villa and just feel at home. I like watching
the animals and I think one of the opakis is pregnant, very heavy with a
foal. I noticed last night after dinner that the lights were on in the
animal barn so I think the keepers are watching her too. She does come
out with a smaller opaki during the day for awhile but then I see her in
a small paddock too.

We were meeting Nick and Nora at Artist's Point so we decided to take a
bus to AK and then the bus to Wilderness Lodge and it worked fine. We
just don't feel like getting into the car, etc. Especially if we have
some wine etc. Nick and Nora had a wonderful wine luncheon there and
felt the level had been lifted. We were not too impressed with the
service or the cuisine this time. I think we will just let this one be
for awhile longer. It's not Jiko or Bluezoo. For my money Liberty
Tree Tavern was better. And that's a big ouch.

We got home via cab about 9p and watched Vegas! Then I discovered we
can stream LIVE video from our local Fox news in Atlanta. So we watched
that for awhile. I really do like that connection to home.

That's it!

Ciao, Lisa

I did not know there were okapis at Kidani savannah!
I will have to check it out next time I am in the area, esp if there
will be a baby.
Those and giraffe are my favorite animals.

Pembe! And there may be three. Two young ones, a boy and girl, and I
think the pregnant mare. Hadn't seen her today.

I'm experiencing the same thing. The RFID works about half the time, just
like the mag strip.

Thanks, Steve. Glad to know it's not just me.

My 15-yo son and I had no troubles in April - but my wife's card+finger only
worked about half the time. She never had troubles with fingerscans in years
past. The green happy circle always popped up quickly on the card reader
orb, so I'm guessing it was just a bad reference finger scan on day 1...

Hmm, I ate there several years ago and it was good, but that was before
the DDP. I'd put the steak on par with Outback on a good day. The
service was excellent. I did think it was a bit too expensive, but most
all food at WDW is, and always has been.

Andy thinks since I am on presnesolone for the shellfish hives my index
finger is swollen so the markers are disturbed. But last night getting I
to Epcot the pole cm was fine but the " you may pass " cm asked for my ID!!
I don't
Have that and I was not happy but he did scan me in and said next time it
would have to be reset. That will be in September. I guess I will
need to bring my DL. I hate doing that.
