That's awesome you could switch your dates! I'm with you... no way am I
spending my vacation $$ on Disney if it's freezing for a high down
there, not if I can help it.

I am betting you will have gorgeous weather. xx fingers crossed xx

Yeah I really really got lucky!! I only had to pay the difference in
the cost of the flight which kinda hurt cause I had 69 dollars each
way and great flight times before but $120.00 plus the ten from Disney
was a pure steal!! ARE YOU LISTENING MOTHER NATURE!!!! ???? HA HA

serious matter while you are at WDW !!!!

be on the look out for two 30 somethings with pin lanyards. the general
warning is they have drunk the Koolaid and are hopelessly addicted Disgeeks.

I am easy to spot I have a great big Purple one of a kind tophat with
mickey ears! and the ferret will likely have some wild hair on.
we are there Jan 18th thru 23rd
and already can't sleep too excited!

Sean,
You should try to get a reservation for an ice fishing charter on the
Seven Seas Lagoon. I heard a report of 4 to 5 inches of ice by this
weekend. Catch and release only of course.

Good Luck,
Monty

I thought you could keep all the ice you could catch?

Is DVC putting in bob houses?

Michigan Outdoor claims to have found and excellent pond @ Blizzard
Beach that has pristine ice conditions and no catch and release policy
so I'm thinkin of starting there but the Seven Seas is on my to do
list!!

In Wisconsin it's all the beer you can drink. Go broke doing that at
WDW.

Complete with two bathrooms and a microwave...

What kind of bait do you like to use for ice fishing?
And what's a "bob house" (besides the one I live in)?

Although I'm a northerner, I like to stay warm, so I catch my ice in
the freezer and keep it in a glass of water next to my chair.

Go anywhere in the northern part of the USA (or most of Canada)
where the lakes freeze over for most of the winter, and you will see
little shacks appear on the ice. These may be occupied by one or
more fishermen and stocked with a good amount of snacks and beer.
As at WDW, some of these accomodations are minimalist, and some are
like a home away from home.

Just be sure to haul your bob house before ice out, or the fish cops
and the EPA will get after you.

The tricky part to winter fishing is that when you release them, they just
flop around on the surface. They aren't truly released until you kick them
in the ice hole.

G'nite now.

Probably those little donut-shaped ice cubes? They'd be easy to
attach to the line; you just feed the fishing line through the
center hole and then tie it around the edge. Or is it considered
poor taste to use ice to catch ice? Sort of cannabalistic? Maybe
a large salt crystal would attract ice better? Of course, if
you're fishing for Ice Nine, all bets are off...

I know when fishing for larger fish, they often use whole smaller fish
or cut of pieces of larger fish. This is probably the origin of the
phrase, "Fish or crush ice". Anyway, the donut-shaped ice sounds like
great bait. Fortunately, there isn't any Ice Nine in Arizona. It's not
how enough for even that.
