I caught "Ice Age 3" last Wednesday. I liked it more than IA2. The movie
worked best when it had dialogue free action scenes. Blue sky did a
breathtaking job on the scene where Sid tried to keep the eggs from falling and
breaking, and of Buckminster's story about Rudy. As well as with all of Scrat
and Scratte's scenes. The movie's entertaining fluff. But its only fluff, as
I never really cared about any of the characters. Except somewhat for Buck,
every character had only one note to play. Manny had been a father before and
so I hoped the movie would refer to that time as he was preparing to be a
father again, but the movie never did.
I caught "Ice Age 3" Wednesday because it was about to disappear from my
local theater. You can see that IA3 vacated a lot of theaters last week,
leading to a big drop. In the case of my theater, IA3 left to make space
for...
"PONYO"! :-D I didn't believe all the claims that "Ponyo" would open in
a large number of theaters. But here you go, it actually opened in Greenville
today. I'm crossing my fingers that it will do well.
