What to do with Disney XD?

Disney XD has been a bit far off lately. It's been showing tween coms
all day long with a pinch of Phineas & Ferb, leaving the cartoons to
be pushed at the non-peaking hours. XD should have 50% of cartoons and
50% of live action tween coms. Heck, even hardcore superhero
characters don't get as much airtime during the day. Keep in mind that
XD should also be a mixture of live-action, animation, action-
adventure and sports.

I would like to see Disney XD handling its animation like it does with
its live action. Same deal for Disney Channel. Motorcity and Tron
Uprising are both in the midnight run, leading to cancellation, Kick
Buttowski, Jimmy Two-Shoes, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes! and
Kid vs. Kat are all done and 9th Grade Ninja is the only animated show
on XD, but its episodes are taking a mighty long time debuting.

-Ultimate Spider-Man shouldn't get the death slot treatment. It's
still new so I would put repeats during the day.

-I would cut the 1PM marathon block for more variety.

-Animated shows that are listed after 11PM will be placed in daytime.

-After 11PM or so, I would put some older shows there, similar to how
Disney Junior does it.

-Air more Marvel shows.

-Put Gravity Falls on DXD, but only on weekends (DC has enough
episodes for GF to get repeats on weekdays).

-Seperate comedy animation, action-adventure and live-action at
different times.

-And finally, less overplay on Phineas & Ferb, since it also airs on
Disney Channel.

The way I'm looking at things, both Disney Channel and Disney XD need
to do a better job at scheduling programs and stop scheduling animated
action series in "death time slots". If this keeps up, Disney might
suffer from program oversaturation, which is never a good thing. Go
over to the thread, How to make Saturday mornings on Cartoon Network,
Disney Channel and Nick more viewer attractive on the General
Animation Discussion Board, where we've also been talking about how
Disney Channel can improve its Toonin' Saturdays programming block.
Remember, Disney XD was originally designed to compete with Cartoon
Network- so far, it's not working, in part because CN has been
slightly more consistent in its program scheduling than Disney XD.
Right now, at this point in time, Disney XD just needs to do a better
job in scheduling programs, all the way around.

It's actually not getting big ratings as Nick and Disney are, since
it's available in a handful of homes and being a digital cable
channel. And we don't want to change XD, we just want the channel to
improve on some stuff like giving superhero cartoon characters more
air time rather than just live action. XD also needs more variety
rather then the Phineas & Ferb/Kickin' It/Pair of Kings network. They
have a whole library of Marvel shows, a whole library of Fox Kids
shows and a handful of Disney shows that could be played on the
network. Shows like:

Seeing how Disney handle with Disney XD and notably animation being
irritable and since many shows you mentionned are long gone, it will
be great to see a sort of Disney Channel Retro only for the 3 firsts
quarter of centuries of the Disney enterprise but who is really gonna
paid for a other network consisted of just reruns?

Disney XD lacks of personnality and wit, i agree, and mostly a
consistent direction into schedule programming. The sole country who
gets this brand right can be in Japan but it's like currently they
airs some Anime programs as Inazuma Eleven and Major and the XD
premieres of Kim Possible. It's unfrotunate that this is a Digital
network and not a Cable network which can help them to produce more
original programming and let places for variety.

Already here in Disney XD Canada, i think 90's actions shows is aired
but only in death times and some mid-2000's shows as American Dragon,
The Emperor's New School and The Replacements are aired but in school
hours. But they rarely serves original Cancon programming for the
Canadian station. Just Family programmings reruns.

I don't know if this statement is clear for you but i must agree with
your point, Disney XD is a ridiculous invention. For a network who
turns out boys centric and means extreme and sport but rarely themed
about in their shows is a lack of opportunity and it's not a surprise
why Disney loss revenues with this Digital network.

I think Disney XD is OK. I like Crash and Bernstein, it's a pretty
funny show that teaches great lessons about family life. I think the
animated shows are cool, but I'd suggest that we add shows like
Teacher's Pet, Dave the Barbarian, Teamo Supremo, Pucca, Ying Yang Yo,
Darkwing Duck, Ducktales, Talespin, Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers,
and Timon and Pumbaa.

Yes, I know Timon and Pumbaa already airs on Disney JuniorTimon and
Pumbaa hasn't been doing well on that network. Besides having a bad
timeslot, the same episodes are repeated over and over. At first, ten
episodes repeated, and later, they added two, first, the one with the
segment "Timonchio" and the episode "Wishy Washy/Ice Escapades". If
Disney XD picked it up, maybe they could vary the episodes they show
and not repeat the same episodes over and over like Disney Junior
does. We could also get back the annual Pumbaa Bowl. If Disney sees
that ratings are good for this series, they could possibly consider
releasing the show onto DVD. (Either that, or maybe if Disney makes
some movie CGI/live action movie about Timon and Pumbaa and they think
that releasing the series would be a good tie-in, a la what happened
to Garfield and Friends.)

I also think Disney XD should air some action anime. I was thinking
about them dubbing Battle Spirits Brave.

Disney has had the same scheduling problem for years. The shows
change, but the programming mentality doesn't.

It used to be that That's So Raven would be shoved down our throats.
Where is that now? Limbo? There has to be a better balance of live-
action vs. animated programming on both Disney Channel & DXD. The
reason there is no balance is because the programming nerds prefer to
oversaturate the schedule with current series that don't have enough
eps to warrant daily berths (Jessie, Austin & Ally, et al). Those
shows should be kept to a 2-3 days a week schedule until the ep count
is up to 65 (which is Disney's limit). CN/Boomerang has had the same
problem.

The bottom line is that programmers don't care what we think, though
they try to tell us to the contrary.

"The Clone Wars" animated series should be coming to one of the Disney
channels at some stage (unless they simply stop making it) thanks to
Disney's take-over of all of George Lucas' "Star Wars" franchise.
