"Igor" had a lukewarm debut of a $3,336 per theater average in its first
week. Boxofficeguru.com noted that "Igor" has no other family film
competition, and so should hold on to its modest numbers for a couple of weeks.
It sure didn't do well with critics, though.

While I wasn't posting, "Horton Hears a Who" apparently left theaters.
Its final domestic boxoffice of $154,529,439 more than covers its reported $85M
production cost, plus it takes away a $141,550,000 boxoffice as well.

It's probably the time of year. The summer season has passed and the
Christmas season hasn't started yet. Ever since Nightmare Before Christmas
they seem to feel that a Halloween movie would sell, but Nightmare was
essentially a Christmas film. (It took place after Halloween.)
And it has to compete with all the new SatAM animation on TV. It also seems
that this is the time of year that TV starts to roll out all the old
animated movies, although maybe more so in November.
If there were trying to cash in on the Halloween market they should have
waited until October. Kids don't really start getting excited about
Halloween until October.
