Okay, so in Captain Atom #54, Cap Atom gets his power boost...maybe this
is the one that will make him become Monarch should he be the one becoming
Monarch. The thing is, now that he has "nigh infinite" power, we can
easily see how he can kill all the other heroes rather easily. My only
problem with this is that I don't see why he just "wills" them to have never
existed at all. So if they never existed, there wouldn't be a problem and
Matthew Ryder would never have had all those memories. Of course, if he
somehow loses that aspect of that power or just simply forgets about it
for some odd reason, his ascension to Monarch would make sense since
he can both do it and it appears that rather soon, he will desire some type
of utopia. No doubt, during this Quantum Quest thing, he'll lose the
family he has recreated and that will change him (like it all changed Supes
in his annual). Now that I think of it, it's very logical that he would
lose (most likely have that purged from his mind) to shape reality like that.
You can't have a hero that has that much power because he could just force
his enemy to have never existed and him being a bad guy with that kinda power
would make no sense either. So (whew), it now makes perfect sense that
Captain Atom will become Monarch (now who was the brilliant guy who suggested
it in the first place? I applaud you). My only problem is that it is kinda
obvious since he's got all that power now...but who knows...
