Kate, it's not like she is dying (dieing, dyeing, oh hell, whatever!) or
something. She has an AOL account (Which reminds me about that "all AOLers
are dorks thread a while back) so I am sure she will keep in touch with RACX.
Best of luck to you, Marie...

I'm sure you have your reasons, but most of us are probably
wondering: Why? Well, good luck on your chosen career path, Marie.
You're a great colorist, and everytime I see your name in a credit box,
I feel like saying, "hey! I know her." I guess I'll just be seeing
it a little more under "coloring", and less under "editor." Again,
best of luck to you.

What?!?!?!
...survive the purge and then quit. Humm, ok, geez, i guess things are
*REALLY* bad in editorial.
No more cons then??? :(

marie, i wish you luck in the future, and thank you for caring enough to
take time to correspond with us. it's always nice to see your name in a
header, and i hope you still visit the group on occassion.

Oh no! Who's gonna take all our advice and criticism to the X-Creators
now ;). Well, we may miss your good influence on the editorial staff
but we will get to enjoy more of your fabulous coloring work. I hope
you'll stick around here though, we like you.

Wow.
Dare I ask why? Did you just prefer being a colourist, or
is there something really nasty going on up in Marvel Towers?
No, never mind. It's none of my business.
This is a pity, actually. The loss of the editor who brought
the world both Hellstorm and Druid without bowdlerising may not
bode well for the future of Marvel horror, especially with that
area of continuity falling under the grasp of Bobbie "I-don't-
understand-your-stories-so-you're-sacked-even-though-sales-are-
up" Chase.

Well, since you read the mini-series, you know as much as anybody
else. But, anyway, in the AoC&P, Apocalypse says he is burning out host
bodies. I'm not sure how this relates to anything else we have learned
about him, but I have a theory or two.
He could have had his original body killed and projected his mind
into another body at some point. I'm not sure how, but possibly like Dr.
Doom did at one point.
Conversely, he could have somehow augmented his powers in the
future which had the side effect of making him burn out bodies.

OH, noooooooooo! Well, if that's what you want, best of luck in the
future, but we'll miss
your creative input. (At least I know I will).

BTW - how many women does that leave in editorial positions at Marvel?
Forget it, I don't think I want to know.

Aw crud. I will miss having a "Good Guy" on the inside. I sincerely hope
this was because of something you wanted as opposed to being forced into.
Best of luck with your new career path!

I can sum it up in one word: WHY?

* QMPro 1.52 * Next issue! Desperado vs Pac-Man! (you may now yawn)
: In cyclops and phoenix why does apocky have to
: switch bodies when he is immortal ?
Answer A: it's really an Apocalypse Biot, not the real thing. If I can
jigger the FTPs right and get my files from my old newsreader program
(btw...I still wouldn't mind if anyone wants to point me to a newsreader
better than this one), I'll post my rather long but entirely lucid
explaination of this. In brief, Walt Simonson's Apocalypse is clearly
and canonically stated to be a mutant whose power is to control every
molecule of his body. The Apocalypse in AoC&P is therefore a fake. How
this could be is more complicated, but understandable.
Answer B: the writers are idiots.

I've been at Marvel for my entire adult life and it's time to do something
for myself instead of trying to push the envelope.
Better for me, but it does feel a little like giving up...
