That should do it. Any one have any good guesses on where it is going
in the 10 year jump? Predictions for what happened to the FW
characters during the 10 year break or to keep up the DC Comics
parallels 10YL.

Less Moore will marry Susan Smith his former Student (who had a crush
on him) and Student Teacher after five to seven years. IMS they are
about 10 to 15 years apart in age. Add a new child or two.
Summer Moore will be a teenager of about fourteen or fifteen.
Funky nothing much has changed he and Tony Montoni both just look
older.

Local residents upset with the current weather pattern are encouraged to walk outside
their homes and shake their fists at the sky while exclaiming, "I am displeased!"
And Crankshaft will still be driving a bus, endangering both his
passengers and the other drivers on the road. (But since he will still
be knocking over Kesterman's mailbox, it will be OK because its funny,
right?)
I'm figuring at least one the rough riders will be teaching at west
view.
Becky will have assumed the hat as the world's greatest working band
director.

So when they make the leap (and when is this supposed to happen
anyway?), will they be in the future or will it still be set present day
(with current technology and pop-culture refs) but with everyone 10
years older? If the latter happens, they could do nice story about a
hole in the fabric of time-space.

It was the Life of Batiuk.... thread from a few days back. The
article is from The Cleveland Free Times and full of spoilers so is
the header for that matter.

Maybe if Crankshaft also becomes 10 years older, he will finally be
allowed to retire. I would guess that most WWII veterans are no
longer driving themselves--certainly not school buses!
To put this into perspective, my father is now retired, and he was
born _during_ WWII.

Maybe when they hit the FF button, Batiuk will make Crankshaft a Viet Nam
vet. Maybe he'll even run into Phred.
That's my biggest question, a *lot* can change culturally in 10
years, and suddenly making it 2017 would raise too many weird issues;
too many things have happened since 1997 to say that was the year all
along . . .
On the other hand, the Batuik-verse Indians beat the Yankees in the
World Series . . .

I would guess that he will do it the same way he did last time: the characters
are 10 years older, the world is the same.

No, the last time the graduation day was clearly in 1988; then
suddenly it was 1992, Les pulling into the school (the strip sequence
this happened in was in 1992) . . .

The original strip had no ties to the real world, so he could claim the
graduation happened anytime and then the reboot was "now". Its harder
to do that what with the war story lines...
