Prince Valiant by Hal Foster first appeared
(Saturday) February 13, 1937, 75 years ago.

This weekend Mark Schultz and Gary Gianni,
the team currently producing the strip
(and doing a fine job, I might add),
have created a 75th anniversary page
featuring some characters that have appeared
over the past 75 years:

And there, at the extreme right, is it? Yes, it is...

A gentleman by the name of John H. has me thinking
that the character behind Merlin just may be
John Cullen Murphy, the artist who followed Foster
of the strip for over thirty years.

The KFS blog has a bit about Val and Aletha
meeting and marrying and birthing babies:

A Prince Valiant blog celebrating the comic strip as
"the greatest work ever produced in the comic art medium"
identifies some of the characters in the panel.
