The following is a table of the Statement of Ownership figures for the
Archie books, which are publishing this document in this month's titles.

The issue number is the issue that published this document. The first
number is the average number of copies sold for last year. The second is
the single issue closest to filing. The third is the range of issue
numbers covered by the filing.

Average Single Issues
Archie #532 21,456 26,874 513-525
Archie & Friends #67 16,460 20,900 51-60
Betty #122 14,998 18,568 103-115
Betty & Veronica #184 20,067 25,524 165-177
Jughead #149 15,262 16,310 139-145
Sabrina #42 14,050 16,222 22-34
Sonic the Hedgehog #119 31,461 37,026 100-112
Veronica #136 13,608 16,734 117-129

Archie's Double Digest #140 136,860 152,538 128-136
Archie's Pals & Gals Double Digest #73
119,166 135,694 60-68
Jughead w Archie Digest #181 71,019 82,338 168-176
Jughead's Double Digest #92 112,776 124,806 79-87

Note that these levels of sales would put most of the digests in the top
ten Diamond rankings, with Archie's Double Digest at #1 based on
February's sales estimates.

I wasn't able to examine the following titles, if anyone wants to add
their data:
Betty & Veronica Digest #136
Archie's Mysteries #26
Archie Digest #196

Betty & Veronica Spectacular isn't out this month, so I don't know if
they'll include the data in their next issue or not.

For comparison, here are some figures from 5 years ago as posted by
Steve Rowe:

Archie (1997) total paid circultion: 41,134
Archie Comics Digest (1997) total paid criculation 124,077
Sonic total paid circulation (1997) 70, 574

So, as a rough estimate, their digest sales seem to have held steady,
while their "standard" format books have dropped to about half their
sales in that time.

I'd be wondering how much longer they're going to keep the "standard"
format books, especially those on the lower end. Take off the direct
market numbers (2000 - 3000) and some of those only sell a bit over
10,000 copies on newstands.

It might be interesting to see the full set of numbers for at least
one book (total print run, subscription sales etc).

Already listed what I had in the original post. I think there's only one
other I'm missing.

I think at least "Laugh Digest Magazine" and "Jughead With Archie Digest
Magazine" were missing from the list.

Do these figures reflect just the newsstand and subscription sales, or do they
include direct market sales as well?

Jughead w/ Archie I had figures for. Is Laugh bimonthly?

They should include all sales, I believe.

if they dont - they they are committing a federal crime - as this statement of
ownership and circulation is a legal requirment.
