I've followed both the Marvel Masterworks and DC Archives
hardbound reprint editions since their inceptions and have
encountered numerous flaws in their art and lettering
restoration over the years, but the restoration on
T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents Archives Volume One is some of the
very worst I have ever seen!!!!

Black-and-white reconstruction artist Rick Keene and/or
whatever uncredited incompetent interns work under him have
hit an all-time low with this one. This hatchet job is such
a grave insult to the incredibly accomplished artwork of
Wally Wood, Dan Atkins, Reed Crandall, Joe Orlando, and the
other classic artists who originally drew T.H.U.N.D.E.R.
Agents in the 1960s that I'm deeply afraid to purchase any
future volumes!!!!

Care to mention some specific examples of "reconstructed" panels
in the book that differ significantly from the originals? I'm rather
curious about the nature of changes.

Hi, Todd,

I cannot speak for the qulaity of the volumes although I thought Volume 2
looked a great deal better than Volume 1. Regarding THUNDER AGENTS, it is very
difficult to find any source material for this title. What I mean is that color
deconstruction porbably would have been worse. Reprints of TA material in black
and white or even finding the original art is tough for which to recolor the
material. There were no films of the material that are known. In addition, the
material was originally intended for newsprint. The white pages may have also
had something to do with it, too. I thought DC did a decent job with what
material was available. If you wish to contact me by e-mail, I can provide a
bit more information, Todd.

I'd be interested in seeing a couple of examples of before and after as
well.
