Todd McFarlane: Big Fingers, Big Eyes, Cartoony Fat People, Huge Lips. Joe
Madeuria:Same as McFarlane, only grossly overexaggerated figures, such as built
being cock diesel, fat being obese, and skinny being anorexic. Chris Bucchelo:
Cartoony art, Big Eyes, and everyone is yelling or screaming. Those are only
some examples that I can think of right now.

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking. I thought comic art DIDN"T have to be
anatomically correct!! Not that having the right anatomy is wrong, but i think it
is also good to not have it anatomically correct. I particulary like Liefelds
art. Sure he's not my #1 artist of choice, but I like it nonetheless.

Heh. You're implying that people that don't like Leifeld like the
artists you described. I, for one, could do without all of them.

Some of his work is quite good, but he has had some quirks that I
really hate, like when he drew Cable with hips like a middle aged
woman with a chocolate addiction and those damned costumes with
totally non-functuional accessories (shoulder thingies, etc.) which
would make it nearly impossible to move, much less fight.

Here's the thing of it, though. Generally in art, you have to know the rules
before you can break them. Stylized art is one thing, but you have to know
what you're stylizing first. Rob has repeatedly displayed that his knowledge
in that area is lacking--muscles where no muscles exist, veins where none
exist, entire chest visible in a profile shot of Captain America, etc. And,
yes, some of the artists you've mentioned have the same problems. (I have to
take exception with Bachalo's inclusion, however. Take a look at his Shade the
Changing Man or Death: The High Cost of Living and you'll see a much less
exaggerated style. It's only since he came to the X-books that his current
style developed.) It seems that Liefeld has just become the universal symbol
of bad comics art. Perhaps because he makes it so easy to point out objective
faults.
