I've been re-reading my Marvel Comics from the Civil War period. I've
avoided that particular series, but I'm enjoying several that crossed
over with it. I'm even enjoying Hercules, even though he has the most
annoying sidekick since Wesley Crusher. Ironically, the Hercules
series seems to have been designed more as a showcase for said
sidekick, Amadeus Cho. Pretty much any superhero could have taken the
title role for that purpose; someone just had to write a team-up with
Amadeus Cho against the Hulk, to start the title off.

My own fantasy team-up is Amadeus Cho and the Ghost Rider:

(Johnny Blaze) "Go away, kid, I gotta hunt Lucifer avatars."

(Amadeus Cho) "What makes you think there *aren't* any with the Hulk
in New York City?"

(fast forward to World War Hulk)

(Hulk) "Squash you. Squash you like a bug."

(Johnny Blaze) -squash-

(Amadeus Cho) "C'mon, Johnny! You can beat him!"

(Ghost Rider, taking over) -giant fireball-

(Amadeus Cho) -barbecue-

What ya think? 8{D>

Hercules didn't actually start up until well after Civil War...it spun
out of World War Hulk...it's a good book but I agree that Cho is
annoying...and he's possibly even more annoying in Mighty Avengers.

Amadeus Cho is one of those supposedly humorous sidekicks who did
nothing to assist his hero. Every observation he makes is freaking
obvious and is in plain sight! As far as I'm concerned, that character
should move to Montana and shack up in perpetual oblivion with Gwen
Stacey's clone.

But, but, I haven't told you my idea about how Athena can then replace
Amadeus with a more fireproof champion! She could recruit Johnny
Storm and call him "Olympic Torch"!

Amadeus's parents live in Heaven, nearby Uncle Ben. Really. Amadeus
himself lives on the road, either by himself ("David Banner" style) or
as someone's sidekick.

Speaking of women Norman knocked up, has anything more been done with Lily?
I think she was last seen in a Ms. Marvel comic.

Seriously, if Norman ever gets his hand on the Jackyl's gene bombs, that

I don't think she's shown up since then...but I'm sure we'll see their
little goblin spawn skittering about in Amazing Spiderman before
long...as if the book wasn't fucked up enough already.

Dating his own daughter? Actually, that's pretty much exactly the
kind of creepy soap opera crap they pull in Amazing these days.

Well, according to that American Son arc, Norman already has a G.
Stacy in one of those pods in his lab...and somehow I doubt it's
George.

Depends whom you ask, I suppose. Amadeus actually met Uncle Ben in
the Elysian Fields, per the Hercules series.

I'm not sure if Cho is a sidekick. Being teenaged, he comes over like
Rick Jones, but he has his own superpower - he's smart - and agenda.
Do the Teen Titans all have to be sidekicks?

When "Amadeus Cho and His Amazing Friends #1" comes out, then we'll
talk about promoting him.

He's definitely a sidekick (although they seem to be trying to change
that in Incredible Herc)...hell, in Mighty Avengers, he even comes off
as Pym's sidekick.

The Teen Titans are not all sidekicks...but most of them are or at
least started out that way...and, once they start out that way, they
always fill that role when their mentor is around...even if they take
on new identities...Dick Grayson became Nightwing to get out of
Batman's shadow but, everytime they have worked together since, he
still comes off as a sidekick.

Hmmf. When Hawkeye tried to rescue Mockingbird's soul from Hell and
got Hellcat instead, it appeared that Mockingbird's ghost was pulling
strings to arrange that. But now it appears that would have to be the
ghost of Mockingbird's first Skrull impersonator who died in her
place.

Who you see in the afterliife probably depends more on who you expect
to see than on people actually being there.

Yeah, that's the explanation they've given for that one...it doesn't
really make any sense but there are retcons galore surrounding this
resurrection...like the one about her dead doppelganger being
vaporized so she left no body behind.
