Steve Rogers is back as Captain America in Iron Man.
Too bad he's not back as Captain America in Captain America.
The tally:
Steve Rogers is back as Captain America in New Avengers Annual 1.
Steve Rogers is back but NOT as Captain America in Dark Avengers Annual
1.
Steve Rogers is back in Captain America but with the Red Skull's soul or
something.
I can only imagine Siege is a plot by the Red Skull using Steve Rogers
body to convince everyone he's back.
Meanwhile, everybody from both the Captain America books and the Thor
books is in Latveria with Doom, but there's no overlap.
Oh and Dr. Doom is about to get bitch slapped by Thor.
Unless he's the all powerful 65 million year old Doom . . .

I certainly hope Doctor Doom didn't start vivisecting Asgardians
without having a plan to avoid a bitch-slapping by Thor.

Maybe he was planning to neutralize Asgard powers, not duplicate them
in himself.

You'd hope, but, seriously, is there any reason Thor won't just execute
Doom for this? I mean, kidnapping and vivisecting Asgardians? Doom's
not dealing with some civilized law abiding Earther this time.

Interesting.
How about, Doom avoids the bitch-slapping for *almost* two issues, but
not forever. Thor delivers him to Balder for judgment. Balder has
Doom turned into a Doomskin rug, with some guts hanging out to feed
the vultures. This tasty buffet gets strung up on the walls of
Asgard. Doom, being immortal now, feeds vultures for a good long
time, until the next siege of Asgard when someone comes along and
frees him.
Repeat ad nauseum.
If that plot lasted two and a half pages, it would have be carried out
long enough.
Speaking of which... what's with the dragging out of Captain America
Reborn? Is it because the creative team is lethargic? Or is it
because if there is some impostateur going on they want to bring in
the real Steve Rogers at a later date to make the reveal?

I think they just screwed up the release dates; it seems obvious we
should have had another issue of REBORN before we had all these Captain
Americas running around in other books, whether he's Steve or the Skull.

It's more than that...they also expanded Cap Reborn to 6 issues when
it was originally only going to be 5...but there really isn't any
continuity left at Marvel these days anyway (even among books by the
same writer half the time) so I don't know why any of you are
surprised?
Not surprised, still pissed.
