Hi Gerry and racm users,

My name is Mike Pring and I had a god awful experience with you and your
secretary (Rosie?) that lasted five months from last September through February
of this year. After inquiring about the availability of several comics over
the phone and providing my cc number, you billed the complete lot to my cc
without calling me back and notifying me which were available. WEll, after at
least a dozen calls asking where my comics were, they finally arrived on
December 1. Rosie told me each and every time either 1) the comics had been
shipped, or 2) she would check into it and call me back. I never received one
return phone call and several times left a message for you (Gerry Ross) to
specfically call me back.

Anyway, after receiving around half the books overgraded, I called once again
to notify you I was returning them - no return call. The books were mailed on
December 1, I called again multiple times over the next 2 1/2 months until a
credit finally appeared on my CC statement.

I can deal with overgrading as that somewhat subjective, but the non-existent
customer service I receive really pissed me off and I posted this whole
scenario to racm at the time warning people not to deal with you. And you
know what? There were muliple responses posted to this board that others had
the same experience.

If others read this that have been dealt with in a similar manner by 1,000,000
Comix,, please feel free to join this discussion.

Gerry - if you are going to attend Heroes Con again this year I'll gladly stop
by and discuss this matter with you in person.

I don't know what post you're talking about or who made it (you can
find out easily enough using dejanews), but since you've opened the
door, allow me to step inside. I'm still waiting for my replacement
copies and partial refund for the grossly overgraded books that you sold
me in September 1998 and that I returned for exchange and refund on
October 7, 1998. That was 7 MONTHS AGO. Where are they? You say
you've been in business 25 years. Am I going to have to wait another
25 years for you to resolve this matter? If you're not going to send
the books, then you owe me $263.50. You kept promising me over the
phone that the books would be on their way shortly because you were
trying to find one or two more every time I called, up until the very
last time I spoke with you when you said to me "Don't ever call me
again" and hung up on me. Would you describe your attitude and
conduct as professional? BTW, by now you should have received
notification of my formal complaint from the BBB of New York, the Office
of the Attorney General for the State of New York, the New York State
Consumer Protection Board, and a fraud investigator from the Web Police.
Am I missing anybody? I also complained to your ISP, though I don't
know if they've done anything with you yet. Maybe a follow up is in
order. Next on the list would be a US postal inspector, since the books
were sent back to you USPS insured. I warned you of the actions I would
take if I didn't receive the books by the start of April. You made this
bed, you lie in it.

My experience is very similar to Mike's, whom I e-mailed a few months
relating my own problem with Gerry Ross and 1,000,000 Comix. Credit
card charged without my final approval on books I only asked about (he
said he would check to see if he had books in a particular condition and
then quote me a price for each, but never called back), grossly
overgraded books (do VF/NM books have extensive water damage?), promises
to return phone calls that are always broken, long delays (in my case,
the delay has been 7 months and counting with no end in sight), customer
disservice, etc. At least Mike got his money back. I'm still out
$263.50 plus numerous long distance phone calls.

I actually recieved an overgraded batch and figured the overgrading was
quasi- acceptable due to low price. I ordered more stuff weeks later and
never received it.
I've never seen a dealer get the regular thrashing that Gerry Ross does here
on RACM. I can't believe he thinks we've had enough time to forget that he
is, like, the worst seller EVER.
