===============

Tom reported that there would not be annuals for either LSH or L*
next year. The decision was not made by the editors or writers,
so Tom did not know the reason why. Tom indicated that if Legion
fans really wanted annuals, it might not hurt to write DC and ask
for them.

SUPERMAN PLUS #1 will feature the LSH. Tom opined that the Plus
was Annual-like, but set in current continuity.

Tom has been told that the Legion books are doing well in sales
and rising. Ron had heard that the Legion books and PREACHER
were the only two books at DC with rising sales.

There are no new crossovers planned for the 20th century Legion.

Jeff anticipated that he would soon finish pencilling LSH #89.

Tom declined to say how long part of the Legion would remain in
the 20th century.

The Legion leader won't be announced for a few months.

Jeff indicated that there is a Dalek (from Dr. Who) in L* #31.

Tom reports that Apparition was in FINAL NIGHT #1, but was
invisible. He protested that he wasn't offering an excuse but
rather that they decided not to interrupt the story to explain
Apparition's situation.

Ron's Ultra Boy story appeared in SHOWCASE '96 #10. Ron
indicated that he liked Ultra Boy, and the character reminded him
of someone Ron knew. He noted that he jammed a lot of stuff into
the story.

The fight between Cosmic Boy and Ultra Boy shown at the beginning
of the Showcase story was only part of that story and doesn't tie
into any specific Legion issues. The intent was to get Ultra Boy
away from the rest of the team.

Ron pointed out that Apparition is now a ghost who he can't just
call up whenever he wants.

Ron indicated that he had a lot of ideas for his next story, but
it was difficult to find a forum.

Ron indicated that the FINAL NIGHT tie-in in LSH #86 was
important.

Tom promised that the creative teams planned to go all out for
LSH #100 and L* #50. Ron indicated that LSH #100 might--and he
stressed might--be 100 pages long. Ron further observed that
#100 will be about 2 months away from the Legion's 40th
anniversary.

When Tom remarked that Jeff had tapped into the Speed Force, Jeff
pointed out that he had to be ready for a double-sized L* #50.
Jeff thought that he would be doing L* #50 on his own, but
suspected that there might be another fill-in before then.

Ron hinted that Apparition may undergo a change in LSH #87. Tom
quipped that she would go from being a ghost to a mummy or a
werewolf.

All of the 20th century Legionnaires except Ultra Boy and
Apparition will appear in the "10,000 Brainiacs" story in
SHOWCASE '96 #11 & #12. Ultra Boy and Apparition will be busy
with Deadman in LSH #87.

Impulse will guest star in LSH #88. Tom promised fans that
Impulse will be very annoying in the LSH story and will actually
go down in LSH history twice.

The Legion fights Wonder Woman villain Dr. Psycho in LSH #90.

Tom did some writing work on L* #44, which introduces a new
villain who is a tribute to Jeff. The villain's name is Ze
Tongue. Tom reported that the villain "has a thick French
accent, which is surprising because he's from outer space."
