Sorry if this has already been discussed, but does anyone know who
the blonde woman on the cover of the newest Invisibles' issue is? I would
have said it was Fanny in all his splendor if he hadn't been on the cover
of #22. (Of course you all know #'s 22-24 combine to make a larger
picture, don't you?)
It can't be Miss Dwyer, who is just about the only female remaining
in the story w/o a cover appearance.
Hugs and kisses,
matt
PS According to Grant at San Diego this year, Robin's cloud photo will end
up being one of the most important items in the entire Invisibles
storyline
Oh...I liked the Mr. Six theory much better than the truth...
My most off the wall guess: It's the artist formerly known as Mr. Six.

Doh! Now I have to go home and try that... *sigh*

Not surprisingly though... I mean, right now my greatest fear is that
in 50 or so issues, Grant's going to reveal that everything that has
happened between 24 and 74 has all been a dream sequence during Dane's
battle with the King-of-all-tears. I mean, I _know_ he wouldn't dare
do that, but... *shudder*

I've wondered about this myself, but it never occured to me that it
could be Fanny.
Maybe it's Dane.
After all, nobody knows who he is either :)

Really?
I tried to find some Jungian symbol in it, but I didn't succeed.

I could put something in French here if I wanted to.
My theory is that the first part is 'All the guys',the second
Dane who is in a class of his own,the third 'All the girls'.
Have a look,it makes sense.

I've noticed that all the men except Dane are on the first cover, Dane
is in the middle and the Female members of the Invisibles are on the
last cover including Fanny dressed as a women. I also noticed that
the Male/Fanny and Female/Fanny are almost in the same position. One
hand is by their sholder the other by their waist.
I have no idea what this is meant to signify... I just found it
interesting.

Oh, come on guys! You Can't be serious.
If you put the triptych together, it makes a(n): really nice piece of
artwork and b: really symetrical painting. Just like those old butterfly
paintings you used to do in school, where you painted it, folded it in half
and it turned into a butterfly? Fold it in half and the characters on the
far left and far right merge and we have Lord Fanny. Both of them are
different aspects of the whole. That, and their stances are mirror images
of each other.
I wonder if they'll make this picture into a T-Shirt?

So did I.
I had even begun to notice that she looked a bit like Six.
I should sleep more, I guess.

'course it was... look at the symmetry on the three covers:
Jim Crow Boy
Fanny King Mob Dane Ragged Robin Fanny
So you have Fanny flanking both ends as man and woman, Dane in the
center as the savior, KM and RR as man and woman, and Boy and Jim as
man and woman (black).
Well, no real mention of the costume in the origin arc. So I got to suing
my OWN brain (which is what its all about anyway, right) and came up with
this:
I think the costume is supposed to be something of a
tribute/acknowledgement of King Mob's totem animal, IE, The Scorpion. The
spiky shoulders and long whip of hair lead my thoughts in this direction.
Any comments

Precept #8: "Use your mind to it's full extent, and rise from earth to
heaven, and then descend again to the earth. Combine the powers of what
is above and what is below. Thus will you win glory in the whole world,
and obscurity will leave you at once"
Knowing of Grant's background/interest in various forms of the occult, it
isn't surprising that he was aware of this text (its a standard for
Hermeticism, anyway) but what's neat is that his fever-riddled brain
would spit out parts of it during a delusion. I've often considered a lot
of his more arcane or obtuse references as a form of "game-playing" on
his part ("Hah, let's see if they recognize this!") but this makes me
wonder if he really IS dredging up a lot of this stuff from his
unconcious. If so, good work...

Well, all I can tell you is it is almost an exact copy of an outfit
designed by Craig Morrison, a British fetish designer well-known for
his spiky rubber outfits. The outfit is pictured in an issue of Skin
Two from a couple years ago. If anyone is interested, I can find out
what issue it is in.
