he wasn't ever black. Sandman has always been white. only his clothing
has changed. What would stop Daniel from putting on a black outfit.
after all, white is a sign for purity and newness. maybe when he gets older
daniel will have darker clothes.

Ah ah ah. Morpheus's hair was black and his clothes that he
choose were black but even his clothing is perceived by who is looking at
him. Its him that gives off that black in his clothes he doesn't decide
what to wear.

Of course, we realize that "black" and "white" is referring to Dream's
hair/clothing color, mostly. I dunno who wrote that letters page, but it
seems unlikely to me that Dream ever had white hair ages ago.
