Yep, it’s a rumor story, but it’s coming from Aussie site What’s
Playing who seem to have some well-placed sources and have been pretty
good in the past. That said, proceed with the caution usually reserved
for rumors.
First up, the site seems have gotten their hands on a character
description making the rounds to agencies as casting begins for Clark
Kent in “Superman: Man Of Steel” (as you might recall, filmmakers are
looking for somebody aged 28-32 years old). In it, we find a very
idealistic version of Kent as he’s “a young journalist, traveling the
globe, who would rather solve problems and help people without
resorting to using his special powers.” And apparently, “the plot
involves Clark getting involved in some sort of battle between two
tribes in West Africa.” It’s definitely an updated take on the
character and a somewhat refreshing one, finding him trying to do good
without relying on the very traits that make him different. If true,
we definitely like that direction.
Meanwhile, the site mentions that Anne Hathaway is in contention for
Lois Lane. We’re sure she is, along with the standard crop of
actresses linked to these things such as Keira Knightley, Amanda
Seyfried, Natalie Portman, Abbie Cornish, Michelle Williams, Scarlett
Johansson etc etc etc who are all most likely names on a wishlist at
this point. If we had our way Rebecca Hall would get the gig but
expect Hathaway’s name as the first among many to be put in the mix
before a decision is made.

Sounds like Superman: Birthright, actually...but since that was the
one part of the story I liked I'm not complaining.

Anne Hathaway wouldn't be a bad choice for Lois.

Even if the big-screen version of Superman isn't the same I still think
at this point they'd be best off casting the Smallville cast in the roles.
Michael
Good idea, bit I don't think they could withstand the storm of agents
with "bigger" stars to pitch. Kristen Schaal was in the "Mad Men"
pilot but didn't want to move to LA. She thought that Weiner was able
to cast exactly the actors he wanted because the show was thought so
little of that Uber Agents weren't storming his office, pushing so-
called names.

Smallville was going strong before during and after the debacle that was
Superman Returns. I'd say that's more than a point in their favor.

Tossup between Teri Hatcher and Erica Durance.
Michael
Noel Neill, though it's a shame they never let her look quite like
this as Lois:
http://www.glasshousepresents.com/hof_NNeill.htm
Despite her dowdier TV look, I still like her best and think her face
is almost a perfect match for the classic Schaffenberger-drawn Lois
visage.
I wondered if someone would mention her. Actually I'm surprised
anyone actually remembers her.
She crossed my mind when I was thinking about "hottest Loises". I
remember when I was a young lad thinking she was quite a number
watching the old Superman TV series.
Teri Hatcher had a great face, not the best body though.
I've only recently come to appreciate how attractive Erica Durance is.
I still think Anne Hathaway would probably be the hottest Lois though.

I just don't see the Lois Lane role as any kind of advancement for
Anne Hathaway's career and filmography. Right now she is in this
decadence phase to show the art community that she can master
the drug, sex and sin lifestyles. And she wants to create this
rogues gallery of roles before she starts to sag and droop.
Didn't Sharon Stone have the same attitude ?
David H
How long have you known that you are gay?
She actually has a better body now than she did then...probably had
some work done.
up?

= DUG.

Probably. I seem to recall seeing some nudie shots of her (Teri
Hatcher) and she had kind of flat boobs that laid kind of funny.
Hence my comment about her not having the best body.
I suggest to you that the movie 'Heaven's Prisoners' would make for an
enlightening viewing.
She didn't look very good in that nude scene.
You know what, I withdraw my comment. I was actually thinking of
Terry Farrell, not Teri Hatcher.
Sorry, I always used to get those two mixed up. Both named Terry/Teri
and both nerd sex symbols.
I have no idea what Teri Hatcher looks like naked. My mistake.
