Did they actually kill Mr. Terrific??

And who's Judomaster? Where should she rank on the list of DCs martial
artists?

No...unfortunately.

Another legacy hero who turned up during the Kingdom Come
story...she's been dating Damage and, until recently, couldn't speak
any English...and we really haven't seen enough of her to even guess
where she would rank against other DC martial artists.

Just a guess, but Shiva's suppossed to be the best, able to even beat
Batman on occassion. Chesire is often listed as second, Cassandra may
acually have that, but just from what I've seen, the way she's being
played up, Judomaster would maybe rank with Cheshire or just behind. It
would be interesting to see how DC would rank the girls. My thoughts, in
no way official, would be;

1. Shiva

2. Cassandra

3. Cheshire

4. Judomaster

5. Ravager

6. Black Canary

7. Artemis

8. Batgirl 1 (Barbara) and Catwoman tie

9. Huntress and Batwoman tie

10. Batgirl 3 (Stephanie), Manhunter, Lady Vic, Katanna

The Silver Age Cheetah would have been my no. 6. After these would be
Question (Renee), Scandal, Wonder Woman without powers as shes more
competant these days without powers, Oynx I think that's her name, Talia
Al Ghul, Holly Robinson, and a few others. This is just how I'd rank
them.

Cassandra has beaten Shiva (at least once if not more)...and I don't
remember anyone ever saying Cheshire was such a bad ass martial
aritst...and BC would definitely outrank Ravager...as much as I like
Steph, she wouldn't make the top 10...and Batwoman and Judomaster are
too new and untried to rank...we don't really have a frame of
reference for either of them.

What about Cain, Cassandra's father?

This is a list of female characters only...otherwise, there are quite
a few other characters who would be on the list.

Shiva, Cassandra, Ravager, Artemis and maybe Judomaster (basing it on
her name and presumed background) would fit this list, as their
background is they were trained and raised since childhood in the
martial arts .. in a moanstery , dojo or somewhere in seclusion where
they do NOTHING but train and study in the martial arts. (as a recent
example, like Snake Eyes and Strom Shadow were trained)

But the others...

Black Canary... never did figure out who trained her.. Wildcat was
one, who else? Still, she seems like a hard worker and someone who can
be among the best by trainig long and hard.

The Bat Ladies - Why is it just because they are in the Bat Family,
they have to be among the best fighters? Im having enough trouble
believing Tim Drake can be one.. (Cassandra as mentioned grew up
doing nothing but Martial Arts) but Babs, Kathy, Helena and
Stephanie? Where did they study? in a Judo Dojo somewhere in the city
along with hundreds of other ordinary people taking up Martial Arts?
Babs is a geek librarian, wouldnt her father know shes been taking
Martial arts most of her life? Kathy Kane, rich socialite (admiteddly
i havent been following her adventures but afaik shes just a rich kid
who probably took a few lessons along with her skiing, fencing, scuba
diving and other lessons rich socialites normally take) Stephanie
brown and Helena.. they just showed Batman giving them a few pointers
in the batcave for several weeks (as if he has the time to do it
between patrols, doing the socialite thing, running his business, JLA
business, and you know.. SLEEP) Few weeks training with the Bat and
you expect schoolgirls to be near the level of someone like Shiva who
spent YEARS training? There are schools in China teaching Shaolin and
Kung Fu to kids as young as 5 years old till adulthood (the Snake Eyes
example again, or in the DCU, Connor Hawke).

And Renee Montoya is just your slightly above average Gotham Detective
who wears a hat and a blank mask..

she was trained by wildcat but she has since received the same
training shiva had...she's a much stronger fighter now.

There aren't that many female martial artists to choose from and being
trained by Batman goes a long way...Batwoman hasn't been around long
enough to earn it (and she never even really met Batman) and Stephanie
is far from one of the best (though I do love the character)...but
certainly Babs and Helena (who has worked with Batman, Babs, and Black
Canary) can kick some ass...and she was pretty well trained to start
off.

>And Renee Montoya is just your slightly above average Gotham Detective

I agree with you on this one...although she did under go some training
during 52, she doesn't belong on this list.

If you're talking about the new Batwoman - she trained as a Marine
until they kicked her out for being gay, and then trained with people
her father (also a Marine) set her up with. It's not the same as being
trained from childhood - and we really haven't seen how good she is in
martial arts, because she hasn't taken on any of the other women we've
been talking about as an opponent - but she's not just some rich
socialite who took lessons and then decided to put a costume on.
