Jeff Moy (L* penciller) was the guest on American Online's Legionnaires
Chat for Thursday, June 11. Jeff and Tom McCraw (LSH/L*
co-plotter/colorist) attended Legion of Super-Heroes Chat on Tuesday, June
16. Legion of Super-Heroes Chat takes place every Tuesday in the DC Comics
Online area of AOL at 6:00 PM EST. Legionnaires Chat is held every
Thursday in the same area at 10:00 PM EST. (Keyword: CHAT DC.) Regular
guests include Tom McCraw, Jeff Moy, Jason Armstrong, Ron Boyd and Mike
McAvennie.

Thanks to T. Troy McNemar who originated the Legion Chat Reports; so much
of the format of these writeups was derived from his hard work.

DISCLAIMER: I can't guarantee the reliability of this report. Essentially,
the Legion chats involve about twenty-five fans shouting repeated questions
to the creators. The creators are sometimes unable to answer questions
thoroughly or clarify their responses. As a result, misinterpretations may
occur on my part.

SPOILERS: Information that spoils current or upcoming issues is found
toward the end of this report. There's no spoiler space to separate such
info from the more general comments.

SUBSCRIPTIONS: To subscribe to these chat reports, send an e-mail to
"majo...@mlists.com" with the message "subscribe lsh-chats". To
unsubscribe, send the message "unsubscribe lsh-chats" to the same address.

PLUGS: To subscribe to Lev Kalman's humorous LSH pics, send an e-mail to
"majo...@mlists.com" with the message "subscribe lev-pics". You'll get a
new cartoon e-mailed to you about once every two weeks.

Super-Resources at http://www.idyllmtn.com/rac/dc/lsh/lsh_res.htm

A BIG THANKS: To Scott Bierworth and Jim Caldwell for logging the 6/11/98
chat.

:=========================:

Jeff doesn't think that upcoming regular LSH penciller Scott Kolins is
manga-influenced. Kolins' first issue is #110 with no scheduled fill-ins
yet thereafter. The millionth issue of LSH is pencilled by Giffen; Tom was
very enthusiastic about Giffen's recent pages.

Jeff supposed that Gates was born with his powers, but noted that the
creators have never come up with an origin for him.

Jeff thinks that Sensor would lay eggs, rather than giving live births.

Tom thinks Supergirl should visit the 30th Century and become an honorary
Legionnaire.

There are some plans for Wildfire.

L* SECRET FILES #1 and LSH SECRET FILES #2 will be published, but Jeff
didn't know when they are scheduled for and what they will contain.

The new lineup for the WorkForce is still unknown. Evolvo and Spider-Girl
are still members. Evolvo is in it for the money. The Force won't become
the new Legion of Super-Villains.

Jeff is sure that Luornu's recent jewelry, which resembles the White
Triangle symbol, is an art mistake. In L* #63, he didn't originally draw
the triangles, but the pages were "corrected."

Jeff thought that Vi wouldn't always be wearing her new headband, designed
by Jason Armstrong.. She isn't trying to cover up the green in her hair.
LSH #109 is a spotlight on Vi, with the Emerald Eye.

XS will take part in the upcoming FLASH storyline "Chained Lightning."

A newcomer will join the team, with none leaving that Jeff knows of.

Jeff thinks that Laurel's new power involves electromagnetism, and she
still has her older powers.

Changes will soon happen to Thom.

Magic will resurface in the Legion books, as a "force to be feared,"
according to Tom.

Ahem...perhaps the paragraph about Gates provides the answer...? :) If
it explains at least some of how he became his very interesting communistic
self, all the better. Of course, some other, too-underused Legionnaires
may "deserve" such space more....

> Jeff thinks that Sensor would lay eggs, rather than giving live births.

Maybe, maybe not. A good number of snakes bear live young. However, we've
seen a hood (like on cobras) on King Charl'zz, and, at least in North
America, members of that family bear eggs, so I'd have to agree that Sensor
would lay eggs. (Though some [not me] might say she lays an egg
already.... <ducks>)

As do I. If for no other reason, Brainy deserves something nice to look
at. :)

Interesting. Gemworld? Mordru revisited (*NO! ANYTHING BUT THAT!*)? The
return of Dragonmage? Garth having a *really* bad dream? Whatever it'll
be, sounds interesting.

Interesting. Who did the correcting? Obviosly Jeff was given some sort
of reference to go on as he had Lu in the proper civilian dress, or was
that corrected to?

Is Jeff normally geiven sokme sort of reference when something visula is
begun in the other book?

For that matter, if Superboy is suposedly stuck as a 16 year old, whode
to say that HE might not still be around? Certainly opens the door for
a S&LSH mini, eh?

I thought I read somewhere that S-boy was going to start aging again
soon! If that's the case then your point would seem to become moot.

I, for one, hope that they contain stories about the Legion of Super
Heroes. But I'm funny that way.

Does this mean that Evolvo is "using the Force"?

Yes. Originally, they were swastikas, but for some reason the editor
didn't like them.

Infrared radiation is electromagnetic radiation.
Infrared radiation transfers heat.
Heat melts ice cream.

My pal Ronn Blankenship said:
>In two consecutive issues?

Sure. Consider this possible scenario: Armstrong, not thinking about
colors, draws Triad with triangular jewelry, because... well, she's Triad,
and has a triangle on her uniform. McCraw, not thinking of the fact that
the bitty little jewelry things are triangular, doesn't bother coloring
them. Moy (or perhaps Carani), having checked to see what Triad was
wearing last issue, draws (or inks) her in the same jewelry, lest someone
read something darstardly into the jewels' sudden disappearance. McCraw,
whether he's noticed the "white"/"triangle" connection by this time or
not, also sticks to the original coloring.

Cheers, Todd

I know. It's hard to come up with a wonder of the world that doesn't
have some relation to EM. My first thought was television, but then

Apart from the fact that it's real messy to read I can't be the only
