They appear as random chunks of the Outpost. For example, Iron forms
Tenzil's cafeteria tables.

And Bizarro Jan would be 100% normal.

Tom McCraw (LSH/L* co-plotter/colorist) and Jeff Moy (L* penciller) were
the guests on America Online's Legion Chats for Tuesday, November 10, 1998
and Thursday, November 12, 1998. Legion of Super-Heroes Chat takes place
every Tuesday in the DC Comics Online area of AOL at 6:00 PM EST.
Legionnaires Chat is held every Thursday in the same area at 10:00 PM EST.

A BIG THANKS: To James Schee for logging Tuesday's chat.

:=========================:

LSH still doesn't have a permanent inker assigned to replace the departing
Ron Boyd.

Jeff had just received five pages of script to draw for L* #71.

Tom has suggested a Legion "Lost" Annual (an 80-Page Giant with 1960's
material) to the reprints editor.

Jeff doesn't think the creators have decided if L* #75 will be an
extra-sized issue.

Jeff joked that a black sheep cousin of Imra's family, named "Ffej Ardeen,"
would be a "cool character." >:)

Tom noted that sometimes Nura's visions can be confusing to her, depending
on how far off she's seeing, so her interpretations of her dreams may be
incorrect.

Brainy doesn't know what Lori's H-Dial is used for, but should be
investigating it soon.

Jeff has a theory that Monstress is always cheerful because the angrier she
gets, the weaker she gets. At her angriest, she'd look like more like an
average human. He's relayed the idea to writers Roger Stern and Carmela
Merlo, but he doesn't know if they like it.

Tom noted that M'Onel will appear a lot in the next few months of LSH.

Jeff used good reference materials to draw the caverns for L* #67.

Storm Front is supposed to be the rebooted Storm Boy. Jeff doesn't know if
Storm Front is a mutated lightning beast.

Tom wouldn't confirm the identity of the villain at the end of L* #67; he
wouldn't even say if more hints would be given in the books.

It's true that the Metal Men will make an appearance, but Tom says it's
just a "cameo/reference shot."

Dawnstar will appear in the LEGENDS OF THE DCU: CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS
Special in December.

Jeff's idea for the Legion of Super-Pets has been approved, but the editor
wanted a couple of changes.

We won't see any "evil" Legion, but rather a Bizarro one. The Bizarro
Legion won't be the whole team, but just the opposites of the characters
appearing in LSH. Tom says that's "more than enough." He said a Bizarro
Brainy would be scary, and a Bizarro Koko would be funny.

Jeff has changed his design for the upcoming villain Ebb, but not for the
female Ayre.

Kono isn't joining the WorkForce, but she'll form her own team.

Would that mean stories from pre-Crisis published in a *new* LSH
comic?

I get the joke, but...isn't that why we have Mekt around?

An obvious spin on the "Hulk" concept, but it could help explain why
she's so damn annoying.

Jeka joins that team and leaves the LSH? :)

And then I wonder, "Why did we need a Crisis?"

That would be cool, especially if they use the right stories. I
sorely miss reprints. I used to get a lot of them, as that's how
I was exposed to the Silver Age as a youngster. The DC Super Special
that introed Hal Jordan to an unsuspecting audience was so cool.
Now we get no reprints at all.

That is pretty darned funny. Alternate take: "she's the best there
is at what she does. And what she does is pretty nice."

Meaning he was lost in some caves for about a week. :)

I had a really cruel joke about such an assignment requiring the editorial
office to spend some time on the Legion books, but I've decided to forego it.

They were chosen randomly from the full script just to make Jeff's life more
difficult.

Does Sterlo work "Marvel style"?

Assuming that it's a 1963 annual as GL's was, what should it reprint?

But Jeff's going to draw 44 pages, just in case.

Jeff needs to lay off the mind-altering substances. (The first person to
point out that a rogue Titanian is a mind-altering substance wins a cookie.)

What if Nura foresees herself reading a history book?

Dial "G" for Get-Rid-Of-That-Stupid-Codename?

I'm sure that their blank stares were somewhat of a clue, though.

If it helps you enjoy the stories, you can pretend that he's Tinya's third
body.

I would never have guessed.

I would never have guessed.

It must be Dr. Mysterious Villain.

Brainy slapping himself on the forehead and saying, "Dammit! I should have
fixed Gold and got Doc Magnus' human body back!"

>Special in December.

There's a 4 page catfight between her and Hawkwoman.

He wants to call them Animal Magnitude, and give them all Imagy codenames.

This could be fun.

They now look like Spice Girls. Someone needs to replace Jeff's reference
material again.

She's going to be in Animal Magnitude?

Well, ideally they'll actually get around to resolving the story, which
would probably require some revelation or two....

My idea is to do the 80 Page "lost" annual as a supplement to the Legion
Archives series, printing the 5-6 most major Legion appearances up to the
end of the Adventure series not printed in the Archives.

Any nominees.

Bad idea. With maybe one or two minor exceptions, anything not being
printed in the Archives is an extremely minor Legion appearance, usually
countable on your fingers in terms of number of panels with an identifiable
Legionnaire (carefully phrased to rule out the stories with Cham or Brainy
appearing for much of the story as a disguised Clark or Superman). To
give you an idea, the most significant such story in my opinion is one
that let me stump Mark Waid on a trivia question...and it was in a Superman
story to boot!

That being Superman #212. Mordru turns out to be the real villain, but
never really appears save as a voice. Brainy from the Adult Legion is
disguised as Superman for most of the issue, but this is only revealed
around the last page. Its main significance is stating for the first time
that the White Witch would some day join the Legion. And this is what
I'd consider the most significant Legion appearance not likely to be in
the Archives by a fair margin.

Personally, I'm not convinced a 60s Legion annual is that good an idea.
Are there really enough anal-retentive Legion fans such that they'd buy
the Annual even though the stories are available in the Archives? Keep
in mind that the Archives readership is around 5K, a fair chunk of the
possible audience for this. I'd go for a 70s and 80s reprint annual if
such was done.

I believe that's what he meant. Since the LSH stuff is all being
reprinted in the Archives, though, I'd guess we're not too likely to see
one.

Our idea (during the chat) was for him to be a gambler and for the Legion
to run into him while hunting through casinos for Tinya III.
