Mike said, "the books' sales weren't the reasons behind the changes." He
implied that the Legion titles are in no danger of cancellation.
Jeff is hoping to draw a STAR TREK comic for Wildstorm, and has to pass
some tests at drawing likenesses before he gets the job.
Tom said it was fun to color over ex-LSH penciller Lee Moder again for
STARS AND S.T.R.I.P.E. But Tom doubts that he'll color TITANS/LSH; he
expects that writer/penciller Dan Jurgens will request Greg Wright. While
he was the regular colorist for DC's Archive editions, Tom doesn't know if
that will continue, now that collections editor Jim Spivey has left DC.
Jeff thinks that we won't see the Time Trapper and Andromeda before the
current creators are off the book. Tom isn't sure about Andromeda.
Tom and Roger Stern's ideas for a Legion of Super-Villains have been
"scrapped." Tom said that the LSV might have included Mekt Ranzz, Nara
Minsork, Micro, and Ze Tongue and his gang.
Mike said that he was thinking about running a reader election for Legion
leader soon, but we'll have to wait and see if that happens when the new
creative teams come on board.
While the current creators have discussed ideas for the Empress of Venegar,
Mike noted that they didn't come up with anything solid yet. He emphasized
that he was talking only about the Empress, and not the Emerald Eye.
No weddings or divorces are in the current creators' plans, though Saturn
Girl and Live Wire will soon work out the problems in their relationship.
Tom and L* co-writer Roger Stern realized that they had forgotten
Blast-Off's original real name in the "Fallen Heroes" profile in LSH SECRET
FILES #2. Stern has an idea of how to reconcile Blast-Off's original name,
Jahr Ningle, with the newly revealed "Leroy Drake." And L* #76 will show
how Drake will relate to the late Atom'X, aka Randall Burroughs.

I don't necessarily think that Nara belongs in with the likes of Mekt. She's
not a villain, although there's little doubt she's a criminal. :-)

Well, he *is* the editor, isn't he? While they're settling into the writing
of the book, we can just blithely yank their chains a little by telling them
which character's going to be in charge of the team. ;-) Hey, it'd give us
some security in knowing that if we can vote for 'em, they're not going to
die, no? ;-D

The Emerald Eye is booked up through the end of next year. Turning shy girls
into sanctimonious holier-than-thous pays much more than Evil ever could. ;-D
> No weddings or divorces are in the current creators' plans,
:-( There is *no* justice in the LSH, I see. Why Jo & Tinya should *not* be
married: 1) Marriage certificate before the wedding? Hellooooooo? Blood test?
2) "Well, I'm married to Mr. X here because I went back in time to 999 AD and
some guy back then married me. Really." It wouldn't work for *me*, it's not
going to work for *them*. :-( 3) Ahem, she's *dead* when this happens. Living
people can't marry dead people. I'm pretty sure that *is* a law. If not, then
I want to marry Jesus Christ. :-D
> though Saturn
> Girl and Live Wire will soon work out the problems in their relationship.
Like the fact they seem to have one only because they told people so and went
to the beach and Titan together? Uh-huh. :-D

To be fair here, I can't blame them for this. :-)

I liked Jahr Ningle, although it sounds like something Elves would use to
bottle Santa. :-) Still, did anyone else have the tune of Bad, Bad Leroy
Brown in their head all day after they'd read this? :-1

Them both being dead and all, I figure they get along pretty darn well
together. Perhaps someone will want to marry them, now that they're single
*and* dead. :-)

, or Start Your Own
No, but now that you metioned I probably will. Arrgh
Randall Burroughs?
Hasn't anyone noticed Drake Burroughs (aka Wildfire) here??? Or did I miss
the discussion?

Isn't our voting for the 'wrong' candidate probably the quickest way
of getting that character killed so that the one Mike prefers as
leader gets the job.

You missed it. Apparently Leroy Randall was also the name of the
Wildfire clone created by TMK in V4.

No it wasn't. He might have been named Randall Burroughs though. And he was a clone
of Drake Burrough's (wildfire) until-that-point-never-before-seen-brother (as opposed
to being Wildfire's clone).

Drake's never-before-seen brother was Squire Burroughs.

Oops. Oh well, my TMK knowledge is low, I was trying to remember
a recent post here. I assume that the guy we were talking about
is the one that was in the "Look Who's Back..." issue, which might
have been after Keith left.
When I said clone, I meant in terms of mimicing the original, not
an actual clone. It's kinduv freaky that he turned out to be a
real clone. :)

LOL! I was wondering if anyone would notice that! ;-D Actually, nuns don't
*actually* do that, Ben, although Trace finds it amusing. ;-D I was thinking
more along the lines of cashing in on the *merchandising* thing, as the newly
married *widow*! ;-D And I couldn't think of another dead single guy who was
making money, offhand. ;-) Besides, who's got more money than Christ? }-> RJ
Brande? ;-D
Sigh, now if only any one of my Tinya points would actually have an effect on
the creative team.... I want the old Jo *and* Tinya back. They were both
interesting people, not walking 'kill-me' targets. Especially Tinya, who's
practically got Body # 3 in cold storage.... :-1

Oh that's right! I quite liked the name Squire, even though I didn't like
finding out that Wildfire had a brother.

Nope. Not even close. I quite enjoyed most of it, even if there were occasional
plot elements that popped up that I didn't like. In fact, I'd say that both the
current reboot and V4 enjoyed a strong start, but V4 continued to tell stories that
interested or angered me, wheras the reboot quickly started telling stories which
made me say "Who cares?" And I'd rather have interest and anger than apathy.

Actually, I was half joking... that's what the little smiley was for.
V4 to me really does suck on a month to month basis, but if you have the
whole run in front of you and can read it straight through, it's not all
that bad.
It did have at least 3 redeeming qualities though:
1) as you say, at least it didn't make you say "who cares" As badly as
I disliked it while it was going on, I never once considered dropping
the title. I can't say that about the reboot.
2) at least it was about the real Legion, the one i grew up with.
3) there was no Sneckie

Maybe not in a comic-book universe. So many resurrections must happen that
if everyone can see a "dead" person on a regular basis, then they must be
alive. :)

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of Elvis. He was unmarried
when he died, had an enormous, devoted following, and has a merchandising
empire that few could rival. And the disturbing part is that I could see
Jo being a near-clone of Elvis in twenty or so years. Let's face it, the
Legion is so popular that it'll go to his head. I just wonder whether
Tinya will like him when he's 400 pounds, drug-infested, and dressed in
gold-sequinned jumpsuits when he fights supervillains. Uh-*huh*! :)

That never really bothered me, I can't remember if we ever actually saw any of
Drake's family before Squire. What bothered me about it was Squire blasts out
of suit and disappears, never te be heard about again. So then we have both
Burroughs brothers being disembodied energy beings running around the universe.
I always wondered (even though I shouldn't, wondering about things that will
never be resolved for me just gives me a headache) if the revived Wildfire was
Squire and not Drake. I know, I know Squire was under dominion control and
all, but it just stuck in my mind. Of course I'm more than happy to believe
that it was really Wildfire during those last scenes of Preboot, they still
choke me up.
