Tom McCraw (LSH/L* co-plotter/colorist) and Jeff Moy (L* penciller) were
the guests on America Online's Legion of Super-Heroes Chat for December 29,
1998 and January 5, 1999. Legion of Super-Heroes Chat takes place every
Tuesday in the DC Comics Online area of AOL at 6:00 PM EST. Legionnaires
Chat is held every Thursday in the same area at 10:00 PM EST. (Keyword:

McAvennie.

occur on my part.

toward the end of this report. There's no spoiler space to separate such
info from the more general comments.

:=========================:

Jeff is now working on L* #73.

Tom has heard rumors that the Legion has been optioned for a possible
animated series. Jeff would prefer the Legion to be done in the anime
style, instead of the BATMAN/SUPERMAN look.

Tom is disappointed to be off IMPULSE starting with #50; it was the
editor's decision.

Tom would like Supergirl to become a Legionnaire someday.

Jerry Ordway designed Thunder's costume with the slippers, but Tom would
rather have her wear boots. He'll suggest the footwear change to LSH
penciller Scott Kolins.

An upcoming issue will reveal more on Saturn Girl's decision to split the
team. She doesn't have a secret agenda, but only wanted to make a good
choice, as leader. Tom noted that the creators decided to divide the
Legion before they started the Dark Circle story.

Tom noted that STARMAN writer James Robinson left Star Boy's destiny open;
Thom won't necessarily become the next Starman.

Many of the robots seen in L* #68 were drawn from reference material
provided by L* writers Roger Stern and Carmela Merlo. Jeff included his
own ideas for famous robots, but he didn't include the 'Bots from the TV
show Mystery Science Theater 3000 because he's not a fan.

There aren't any solid plans for the Legion to encounter Hypertime yet, but
it's been discussed. The Legion's timeslip stories might retroactively be
considered Hypertime stories, but Tom says using Hypertime won't be as easy
as some might think.

L* #69 will show some "familiar feral characters," according to Tom.

Yuck. I like the slippers, they are unique and look good. Boots on
Thunder would look...odd.

If they knew they were doing this back then, how come we never saw
anything that lead logically to the split? Say, a little talk between
Imra and Cos about it, or some members talking about spending time in
space (pro & con...some loving the idea, some hating it). We could've
seen some character development and had the split seem more logical.
Sigh.

Ah well, what can you do 8(

That's the Lori Morning/Workforce issue, right? We haven't seen the
promised Catspaw appearance yet, and that plural is intriguing. A
*long* time ago, I suggested to Peyer that both Catspaw and T-Wolf show
up as Workforce members...

It's a little close to second, so I'll skip the typical.
Catspaw showed up the panel before Lupine did in that issue. She was the one
licking herself clean.
