The Oval Office: President Bush sits in conference with Condoleezza
Rice, the Green Knight, Blue Boxer, Knockout Mouse, and Darkhorse. A
huge ceiling-mounted television monitor looms over their heads; on-
screen are Gallery, Whistler, and Cockatrice.
“Mr. President,” says Whistler, “Darkhorse has one minute to
deliver the money! 60 seconds...”
Condi looks grim. “If we don’t pay them, they’re going to release
every villain in every super-prison on the continent!”
“59 seconds...”
“But we can’t negotiate with terrorists!” says Bush. “There has to
be some other way!”
“58...”
“Please, heroes! There must be some way you can avert this
“COUNTDOWN TO DOOM!”
