We RACC writers lead rather busy lives, so here's a challenge that
should be easy to fit in alongside all our regular commitments and our
real lives. The "24-minute comic" is a venerable RACC institution--
well mainly it's Jamie Rosen's institution, but a few others wrote
some too. (You can read Jamie's original 24MINUTECOMIC series at
http://archives.eyrie.org/racc/lbp/24MINUTECOMIC/, and I encourage you
to do so.) So now it's time to revive that tradition.

Your goal is to write a story in the space of 24 minutes. It can be
any genre or mood that you want. But it has to begin with "I knew
things were going wrong when..." (This is borrowed from a workshop
exercise that Jamie used for 24MINUTECOMIC #8, probably the best issue
of the series.)

Because of the nature of the challenge, the due date is shorter this
time: January 13, in two weeks.

You know, I've never gotten around to reading that...

Oooooooh. Sounds fun! (And providing excellent grist for the make-
myself-write-more mill.)

Andrew "NO .SIG MAN" "Juan" Perron, makes sense.

I'm very happy with how this challenge turned out; there were a lot of
entertaining entries. Just to remind you, the stories were:

Coming to Grief (LNH20) by Dave Van Domelen
Worse than Useless (SW) by Scott Eiler
LNH v2 #46 (Classic LNH) by Saxon Brenton
Going Solo #10 (Starfall) by Ted Brock
Team Xero #13 (Misc) by Jamas Enright
LNH20 Comics Presents #8 (LNH20) by Andrew Perron

Votes are due on the 21st; send them to me at this address.

Also, Scott Eiler had another entry in the original, rough version of
Powernaut 1954 #1.

The competition was pretty intense this time, but the winner is Saxon
Brenton, with LNH v2 #46. Congratulations, Saxon!

Congrats! Sorry I didn't send in any votes; I was still catching up on
feedbacking, and didn't have time to read Going Solo #6 by the time voting
ended.

Andrew "NO .SIG MAN" "Juan" Perron, mar!

Really? Well, uh, okay. Thank you. That was unexpected.

I'll try to come up with a concept in the next day or so.

I suppose we'll never know, but it would be interesting to find out
which RACC member has voted correctly for the winner the most often.
Saxon just helped me add to my own record. 8{D>

Turns out I'm an anally-fixated oedipal paranoid with
south-of-the-border schizophrenic delusions... But never mind, I've
found me the ideal job. I'm going to run for President!
