Portable reading is to be encouraged. What's more
portable than a book?

Ah, but the unnamable Kindle allows you
to pack in several books. But the problem
with these machines is that they discourage
reading long plot development... or long anything.
They discourage reading.

I can see the utility of an audio Kindle for people with
poor eyesight, but that's not how they're marketed.

Sure, that's a good point. But Tolstoy is on Kindle, too,
and you should hear what he said! Dante and Plutarch, too.

By the way, Amazon has thoughtfully reserved an author's
blog page for Dante just in case.
