The opposite of a correct statement is a false statement.
But the opposite of a profound truth may well be another
profound truth.

(Comment to Troels: Which weapon do you have in mind? I can't think of
one that has a proper name, is made by dwarves, and not made of metal).

People would be better advised to not cascade their questions, but rather
ask each after the questionmaster answers the previous one. Patience!
Narvi made the doors of Moria. :-)
14. The breadbox question: would it fit inside a breadbox?
Cr.
Let med add, just to make double sure, that I don't recall Gimli
saying he wishes he had used the item, but that I don't recall any
episode where he expresses such a wish at all.
> 14. The breadbox question: would it fit inside a breadbox?
No.

Annankkai.
Yes.

Hm. Not Balin's Tomb or the Chamber of Mazarbul, nor the Endless Stair,
which did have insides where something could be put. Balin, in the case of
the tomb. Not Durin's Bridge, which did have a military purpose: a last
defence against a foe that broke through the East-gate. "The Door of Moria"
of question 13 I guess refers to the Hollin Gate, so I'll make a long shot:
17. The Dimrill Gate?
Wu[1] Ya[1].
A staircase doesn't have an inside, does it? Only space above it, but
that isn't really part of the staircase itself. At least not in the
sense of "a compartment to put something in", which is how I perceived
that question.
> 17. The Dimrill Gate?
Nope.
Öjevid
18. OK, so (sorry, raven): is it the endless stair?

It is indeed. DINGDINGDING! We've got a winner!

I live in Europe too, but I was so curious about how it would go that
I kept sneaking back to the computer to see how it was going. I am
very impressed by all the shrewd questions which gradually nailed down
the subject.

but you're part of the deal is that you'll stand at the top of the
stairs and sing both parts of a duet, is it not?

a bull rat each over the lake. (Rorschach tests seen by "Illogic")

I definitely do; but I've suffered from a cold with a rather
irritating cough, which has made my sleeping habits rather irregular
lately. So when I woke up, a little trip to the computer was no great
exertion.
Öjevind
pretty much.
(in fairness, the answer had kind of been given away, or at least
strongly hinted at.)
>> but you're part of the deal
EEEK!
is this the point where i slink off into devastated obscurity, pretend
it never happened, or try to make it look like it was all intended as an
elaborate and higtly sophisticated joke?

nothing's fair in 20 questions.
or was that all is fair? hoom...
