a medieval / Celtic style, cloth spine with raised bands. Nice
illustrations & designs throughout, decorated initial letters. Some
internal staining, binding a touch soiled, a very good copy. Printed
later in the war this volume is not as elaborate as the FAUST or the
WALLENSTEIN produced by Kindle in 1938 and 1940, it does serve as a
handsome companion volume to these two, however. The Edda is one of the
great source - books of western mythology. Originally Icelandic in
origin, the term EDDA was applied to a remarkable collection of
literature compiled from oral tradition by Snorri Sturlason in the early
13th Century. The fine lines between the EDDA and the VOLSUNG A SAGA
became diffused throughout the middle ages, and the EDDA is perhaps the
key to all... $150.00
