beautifully illustated book of the fables; this is a 1883c edition.; an
inscription to John Heaw Jr. dated May 1904 with his bookplate; a small
piece to top of spine is missing; rubbing to all edges of the boards;
browning to end papers but overall the interior is in good condition.

with marbled boards & endpapers; raised bands on spine, top gilt; rubbing
to edges of boards; browning from sun to spine insignificant foxing on a
few leaves; ex-libris of Rene Dussaq; original pictorial paper wrappers &
backstrip bound in rear of book; over all book in good condition. The
text is translated into modern French by Mary from medieval text of
Chretien de Troyes. He translated several medieval classics in this
