daughters of members of the Legion of Honor; a portrait of Napoleon by
Hopwood; oblong small folio; 3/4 blue morocco gilt back; rubbing to

The school was instituted by Nepoleon in 1809 in the former Abbey of St.
DEnis next to the Basilica. Two birds' views of the complex. Photographs
provide views of the building, the grounds, scenes with the pupils on
their
promenade, classes of 1877 & 1881, the Director(Madame la
Superintendante)
and her council of 7 ladies. Documents & certificates relate to one of
the
students & her family from 1874-1891. $500
