Good God, is she really asking the good people of RAB for cash donations, to
help complete her leg piece. I am sorry people but if you want to have blind
faith in someone and give cash donations go to a catholic church. She is
allready scaming free jewelry out of enough companies and now she wants cash.
Lish why don't you be a good girl and suck my pierced dick and earn your money
like everyone else?

Lex baby,

Perhaps you should clean that recently scalpelled ear. I think
you are suffering from an unusually fast moving virus that has
caused some sort of inflammation of the brain.

Otherwise, you're just

a. retarded
b. stoopid
c. trying to lamely stir up trouble
d. imitating a certain nameless anthropology student who's
somewhere in Mexico with his girlfriend's well-lubed finger up
his ass
e. possibly all of the above.

And you should write the Pope and apologize for your comments
about the church. You might need the sanctuary if Lish feels a
compelling need to to hunt your ass down and bitch slap you.

i find it interesting seeing who says i'm "scamming" companies &
who realizes that i'm offering a very useful service. just ask that wendy
chick at custom steel how many orders they've had from my review. i
presume the same can be said for Steal, & it'll be good to have a
first-hand look at tonguestud.com's stock if it arrives. (robert seemed
interested & asked what i'd like, but never gave me a definite "i'm
shipping tomorrow" or anything.)

further, i believe many RAB readers will appreciate the upcoming
modcon book review. it can hardly be considered "scamming" when it's the
company who makes the review offer.

I remember when I first read RAB, some five years ago, it was an interesting
newsgroup with good discussions on Bod Mod. Now, it seems to be an ego booster
for some and for others a chance to insult people for whom they would never
have the balls to do so in person. I know that there are thousands of people
out there who read the post but are afraid to post in fear of getting flamed.
People get over yourselves you were all new to this game once. I have gotten
many positive e-mails about my post about Lish, I am not alone on thinking she
is an extreme egotist, I am just alone in having the nerve to say it.

Then you must have seen how stupid everyone else who makes this argument
looks. Things change and evolve. Cope.

> Now, it seems to be an ego booster

Bullshit. Complete and utter bullshit. Pay my way to rabcon and show up
there yourself, and you'll find I am just exactly the same.

...and no, I won't suck your dick.

> I know that there are thousands of people
> out there who read the post but are afraid to post in fear of getting flamed.

Good. The flames are there for a reason. The 14 people who were just about
to send dumbass questions can read the flame and rethink their
approaches. Unfortunately, some people are beyond help, but there are a few
who actually learn from others' mistakes.

> People get over yourselves you were all new to this game once.

Uh yeah, but some of us didn't make utter fools of ourselves in our first
posts, and mainly due to the examples before us, and the tip-off that FAQs
and charters and the like are there for our edification. I, for one, am
extremely thankful that I read the week's posts with the flames before
posting. It kept me from asking the question I wanted to ask without trying
a little harder to find the answer myself. As it turns out, I did find the
answer without posting, and I was able to gracefully assimilate myself
without getting flamed. Since then, as I'm sure you have observed, I've
become a frequent poster, and not too terribly disliked (by anyone who
counts, anyway).

> I have gotten
> many positive e-mails about my post about Lish, I am not alone on thinking she
> is an extreme egotist, I am just alone in having the nerve to say it.

Uh, you're mistaken there, as well. Many of us know Lish is an extreme
egotist, and many of us have said it. Lish is one of those extreme egotists
that you identify as a complete and utter bitch, and yet can find amusing
and fun, anyway. I've told Lish off, plenty. I've also come to see her as an
integral part of rab (and on a completely unrelated note, of #bodyart), and
I really do wish she weren't anti-munch so I could meet her at rabcon. I
think, though I'm sure I'll deny it if asked again, that I even *like* her.

So Sean, you go right ahead and revel in the supportive emails you got from
rab lurkers. They are as important a part of the group as anyone else. They
do the kind-hearted private email thing to people who ask stupid questions,
and they disseminate their questionable info... but don't knock the other
components of the group. The flamers are the ones who give the people
willing to take heed a warning before they embarass themselves.

...and if you want deep meaningful conversations about body modifications,
please go right ahead and start some. If they interest me, I promise to join
in.

Some people on RAB insult those who ask the same five
questions whose answers can easily be found with a little
work on their part. Others are almost always helpful and
patient. Unfortunately, one can not expect a group of
people in a public forum to behave in accordance with one's
personal standards. If you're upset with how others are
treated on RAB, then why don't you be Mr. Sunshine and
Happiness to those seeking advice and answers? Set the
example. Or something.

Of course Lish is an egotist. She does egotist very well.
Many people, myself included, think she's very funny. You,
however, are not such a great whiner.

Actually, I think most of the people you're thinking of would be just as
quick to insult you in person if you came off like this.

You live close to me, don't you? Wanna test this? 8D

I think that if the fear of flames is keeping people from doing something
they greatly desire to do, they need to get a grip. What is this,
RABophobia? It's just words, people. Yes, a flame might hurt sometimes,
but it's not like we rushed your house and ate your kids. Geez.

> People get over yourselves you were all new to this game once.

I was new. I think deja probably still has my first post. Through trial
and error, and a lack of RABophobia, I have survived. And not everyone
here thinks me a dumbass.

> I have gotten many positive e-mails about my post about Lish, I am not

She is an extreme egotist. And it took no nerve to say that. She's my
favorite extreme egotist, and I'm bleeding on her today. :D

Like a scrotum, here it is in a nutshell:

Sean, you just wrote the same arguments that someone posts every week or
two. (a) RAB used to be kittens and giggles, (b) U R MEEN, (c) people are
scared, (d) a million people agree but are scared (see (c)).

You lose.

For the same reason people lose weekly for the same fucking post.
Can we make it a form letter to save you whiny bitches some time?

Why don't you just start your own newsgroup. That way it can
be the way you like it: just like the good ol' days. You can
moderate it and it can be *your* newsgroup. That way five
years from now it will still be the same. If all those people that
email you like it you will already have people posting. When
others come here talking about "the way things used to be"
we can send them over to you. How is that for a concept?

I completely fail to understand this.

I get almost **NO** private email from RABbits, lurkers or otherwise,
flame or support.

Most bodmod-related email I get is related to my website.

...hi, I lurk...
I made a fool of myself in my first post here. It was one of the ubiquitous
'please do my research for me' efforts. After receiving a couple of flames,
the only thing to be heard from my end was a very quiet 'Ooops.'. I'd
mistaken the nature of the newsgroup. I stuck around, read others' posts,
read the FAQs, and formulated better questions. RAB's a great place and its
inhabitants have taught me some deeply appreciated lessons about usenet
protocol. I'm grateful for them, the skills are useful throughout usenet...
and I hope I've progressed, at least enough not to piss anyone off too
tragically in the future.
thanks guys.

p.s. I like Lish's posts. They're informative, entertaining and for free. :)
