Any recomendations for a tattooist in Brighton (UK) to do an upper arm,
abstract art piece (still undecided, but possibly either a Joan Miro style
figure or a Leger style figure, all in black thick outline with VERY bold
colour).

I know there are quite a few in brighton (5 shops), but most seem to do
flash. Anyone had any custom work done anywhere.

If not Brighton, then London.

Cheers in advance.

Hi Grant,
as Carmen has suggested, Danny Fuller at Blue Dragon has got to be one of the
best in the area.
One thing to note though try asking to see any recent photo's of there custom
work, I think you'll find most tattooist will do custom work if asked

Right, you've got Danny Fuller at Blue Dragon in North Street, he's won
loads of awards, I've had work done by him and I was happy with it...
You've got Scrow at Gunpoint, no address but try 01273 206226, I've seen
work and been impressed.
There's Dave Williams at the Crow's Nest in Baker Street, now he's done some
excellent work (mainly free hand), and some stuff that's not too hot (altho'
I think it's early stuff...?)
The others I can tell you who and where, but not recommend as I don't know
enuff...
Eastbourne there's Jim McAirt at Good Karma, (Station Road), he's excellent,
again I know this from personal experience.....

For what you're looking for, well, check out the above...best of luck!

Jim Mc Airt is excellent, I've been thinking of getting him to do some work
for me when I can afford it, it's worth the trip down to Eastbourne and his
studio is one of the nicest I've seen, it's really large and airy with great
light, not a poky kind of public toilet style studio like most tattooists!!

Definately go for it; I had a lotus blossom & Buddhist mantra added to a
dragon that had been done by Danny Fuller many years ago, and it's the best
work I've had done so far!!
Jim sits and chats to make sure you know exactly what you want (which I only
had a vague idea), makes a mean cup of tea, and is very aware of working
with the lines of the body, rather than chucking a bit of flash on any old
bit....
As a woman who has been tattooed by a more "traditional" (ok read that as
sexist) tattooist in the past (as well as by some excellent artists..) it
was refreshing to be treated like a human, not a piece of meat...and hey
girls, I bet you know what I'm talking about!
As I said, apart from that, he's an artist in the true sense of the word,
who takes pride in his work and actually talks to you, not preaching about
what he thinks you want.....
