I recently acquired a Castle Cagliostro fansub with a music video on the
end. First there were a couple of pictures of some guy (presumably the
editor of the video) standing next to Kei and Yuri, then the video itself,
scenes from the Dirty Pair TV series set to Tommy Shaw's "Girls With Guns"
song. I'm wondering who put this video together; can anybody tell me?

I saw the "Girls with Guns" DP music video and really like it. But the
video quality of the tape from which I saw it isn't really worth copying
from. Where/who do I contact to get a good copy of it?

Unh-uh...No way! (Stupid BAD reference ^_^)

Don't think it was any of those guys, or any of the Birmingham, AL guys
either... in fact, I'm about the biggest DP fan around here (I defy
anyone here to call my hand on this ^_^) far as I know...

Somebody ask Ken "Thingfish" Primer... I KNOW he has this video! I
thought someone up there, either Ken or someone near him, did this vid...

Regards,
Gordon.

Weeeeell, there's only -one- Birmingham guy, and now he's a columbus guy.
That's me. :)

As far as I know, the "Girls with Guns" video (Tommy Shaw song) is one of
the great anime music video mysteries. No one knows who did it. It's a
darn good video, and exhibits everything a good AMV should--good timing,
an effort to match footage to lyrics, etc.

Gordon, would you happen to have the number for SD BBS? I've been wanting
to call back there for a while and try to kepp touch with Dave & co,
especially since I want to try and make it to AWA in October.

It was done by Pine Salad Productions.
Not sure where they are, but I saw a rumor about them last year pointing
somewhere in California... can't remember wheree though. But anyone who
knows where to get in touch, that's who made the video.

See? Some people do know who did it... I just thought someone else would
mention it first.

Heres the 100,000Y question.

Is there any way to get a copy of this 'infamous' DP video?
Does anyone have it and would be willing to copy/trade for it?
Does the company sell/provide it to the general public?
Of those who have seen it, how good is it?
Can I stop with these monotonic question? Yes I can.

Thanks for any info!

Nope, sorry, wrong answer, do not pass 'GO'. do not collect $200.

Pinesalad had nothing to do with that video. They did parody dubs and that's
pretty much it. The only music video I've seen is a clip that Allen (sp?) did
to a remix of 'Get Wild' (Get Wild '89" to be exact) and that involved City
Hunter.

Next theory please.

Alright, already.....
So Anime X had nothing to do with it dammit. So sue me, I made a
mistake...
What we do know is by the way the video was constructed, with sharp
cuts and
all, that it was soome one working/who has access to a Pro Editing house,
so I may be one of our friends in the TV industry who may fear association
with anime who deposited this Gem of a video into our Laps (although I
kinda liked MAD's
Nasty Habits video a bit more) Keep looking though, he may someday show up

You do not need pro editng equipment to produce such a video, you just need
patience and imagination and a editing VCR. I may take a stab at remastering
it myself if the original creator doesn't show up.

NOT!

Girls with Guns, Hair, Memories, and many more were done by
"You Know Who" of Dallas TX. The reason the name is not given is that
he uses equipment from a Christian Broadcasting Company in the DFW area.
This can be confirmed by Meri Hazelwood pho...@pic.net head of
Project Akon.

BTW I'll will be glad to trade tape for tape (Hi8mm,VHS and SVHS)
of You Know Who's videos for other Music videos.
(I beleive there are about 6 music videos)

Well, pardon me if I don't, you probably don't have enough money ^_^ ^_^

Not necessarily. I put up for your consideration, the music video that
_was_ done here in Atlanta, by Matt Murray of Corn Pone Flicks-
Harmageddon to _Entropy_ by Bad Religion. Now THAT'S shart and fast cuts!!!
I don't think ANYONE has made that many cuts (good or otherwise) in an
anime music video... He did this all on _consumer grade_ video components!

BTW... that video impresses me (along with the Honneamise _Learning to
Fly_ Pink Floyd music video by Jigoku no Video aka Jeff Taterek-another
killer vid) in that it was made from a _subbed copy_ of the feature! All
those cuts were _necessary_, after all, to miss the subs!!!
