A couple or three months ago I was watching some news reports from a
convention of syndicated tv show producers that was held in Miami. Saban
was there, pushing the fact that a new ranger was going to be introduced
this fall - an artifical life form (or perhaps they said a robotic
life form. I forget).

I have also heard rumors that there would be a spin off of the Green Ranger.

Since none of the fight sequences are original, but are all from a series
of shows from Japan, it would be well within reason to expect that as
the sequences from yet another series are used, introductions of other
new characters will be necessary. There should be no real reason - other
than struggles over demands for salary or benefit increases - that
the American stand-ins would need to be replaced.

The new season will use Dairanger sequences in lieu of the current Juranger
(also spelled Zyuranger) sequences. There will be a new Ranger (White).
There are conflicting rumors about if anyone is getting replaced as well as
the status of Tommy/Green Ranger (who has not been appearing very often
since the Green Juranger was added part way into the show and later killed
off making scenes with him harder to find). Since there are only 5
Dairangers (including White) one Ranger would have to go. Also the Uniforms
of the Dairangers are totally different from the Jurangers so along with the
new villain and Zoids, there would need to be some explanation of the change
in "Morphed Identities." Also, two of the other Dairangers (White and
another) are a young/short children [much harder to cover-up than Yellow
Juranger being Male] and you can see why Saban is rumored to ONLY be using
the Robot (Zoid) sequences and planing to film ALL fight sequences (In and
Out of MMPR State) here in the US with the existent cast.

As for Tommy/Green Ranger, he may end up as Cybertron (another show they are
importing).

No there are six as well. The only Dairanger who's a child is the White Tiger
ranger. The other creatures on which the rangers are based are Dragon,
Lion, Pegasus, Kirin, and Pheonix.

The indirect info I got from Bandai (i.e., read this as rumour) is that the
Zyuranger robots would be destroyed in the transitional storyline. It was
not clear whether a new group of rangers will replace the original ones or
the original ones will simply don new equipment. Haters of Zyuranger
should have their VCRs ready for the downfall.

One. I don't see how they could remove the White Tiger ranger
(Fangranger?) if they want to sell one more robot. They would lose two
robot combinations as well.

Cybertron....I've heard it will use footage from Metalder. X-p

"Maceker" is the more commonly used term. It just fits better :).

Hee hee, so has that verb progressed beyond specifically referring to
Streamlined (and HG'ed) things and now refers to any modifications of
that nature? But that means pre-Macek things can be called
"Mackerized" too ^_^

There are six Dairanger, including white. Red (Dragon), Green (Lion),
Blue (Pegasus) and Yellow (Kirin) are guys, Pink (Phoenix) is a girl. All
of them are as old or older than their Power Rangers counterparts. The
White Ranger (White Tiger) is a young boy, his powers seem to stem from
some association with the White Tiger Sword left planted in a rock (which
only he could remove.) When he transforms to Dairanger; however, he
becomes a full-sized adult, so any costume sequences of the White Ranger
could be used.

The main problem with the White Ranger is that, like the Green Ranger in
Zyuranger, he comes along halfway through the series. First, he is on
their side, but then, due to some outside influence, he fights against the
Dairanger (I only watch 'em, I don't understand what they're saying :-))
Later, he is released from the influence, but looses his powers shortly
thereafter.

Also, like the Green Zyuranger, his costume is much more ornate.

Dairanger is VASTLY superior to Zyuranger, although their monsters
(kaiju?) are a lot sillier in appearance (such as a giant tube of lipstick.)

There is evidence that Saban is using American villans to replace the
three main adversaries of the Dairanger, Apparently they don't want to dub
them like Rita/Bandra.

I think the rumour that they will be filming everything but the robot
shots came from the observation that all the toys are still showing the
Zyuranger style costumes, even when they are sitting on Dairanger motorcycles.

This could make for some great continuity glitches, since the Dairangers
ride on top of their respective robots, until they combine into one of
their many "bigger" forms.

The toy lines displayed at the recent Toy Fair, and showing up in places
like "Advanced Comics" are showing Go Sei Sentai Dairanger robots as the
new "thunder zords." Presumably, they will begin using Dairanger footage,
which will entail a change of costume for the 'merican rangers...
Dairanger consists of Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Pink. There is also the
occaisional appearance of a White Ranger, who is both for and against the
other rangers, depending upon the episode. There is also a giant Turtle
Robot in Dairanger, which is a human who transforms directly into the robot.

As for the rumoured Green Ranger spin-off... for a while Saban was
advertising "Cybertron" which stars the actor who plays the Green Ranger
(no clue if he is supposed to be the same character), this show was to be
a Power Rangers style butcher job of "Metalder", but I have not seen any
mention of it lately... perhaps they are going to keep the Green Ranger
and jettison the Black Ranger?
